This short book (really a monograph) is the fourth in a series on the Spanish existentialist/vitalist philosopher José Ortega y Gasset (1883-1955), whose most famous work is The Revolt of the Masses (1930), which describes the mass man whom Ortega saw as a danger to civilization.
