About this listen

A sunny bridesmaid-for-hire and a grumpy best man put love to the test in this laugh-out-loud romantic comedy.

Meet Randi Burnett—she’s brilliant, she’s beautiful, and she works for the bride. Missing groom? Intoxicated in-laws? Crying ring-bearer? You name it, she wrangles it. Too bad her personal life isn’t thriving like her side gig as a bridesmaid for hire. Recently dumped, Randi throws herself into her biggest challenge yet when she’s hired as a maid of honor and pretend best friend for an ice queen bride. There’s just one problem—the best man is infuriating, overprotective, and anti-marriage.

High school principal Will Valentine doesn’t believe in love. But his best friend is getting married after a whirlwind romance and has asked him to be the best man. So here he is, a man named for the patron saint of lovers, who doesn’t believe in the institution of marriage yet is somehow color coordinating for the event. No one is more surprised than Will when he starts falling for the bubbly and vivacious maid of honor who loves all things love, but strangely doesn’t seem to know the bride all that well.

But what happens when he discovers Randi’s undercover identity? What begins as a battle of wills between the two soon turns into a flirtatious game. Between cake tastings and dress fittings, will these two opposites find their own once-in-a-lifetime love?

Heartfelt without being more of the same

Even tho I could predict some of the drama, I love that there were enough not traditional twists. Characters seemed real and well developed.

Sweet story

Sweet story about two people with opposite views on love. Although, it seemed like they were both in love with their respective best friends. Kinda weird how obsessed they were but it ended on a good note with the feelings of missing their friends coming out.

So confused

I can see why this only has 4 stars. The premise is interesting but the characters who are supposed to be falling in love with each other seem to already be in love with their best friends.

Quick and predictable

Super quick easy read, but 100% predictable. Some of it seemed unnecessary to the storyline.

Couldn’t get into it

There was something about the narrators voice I didn’t care for and I couldn’t get into the story. Usually I listen as much as possible but for this book, I had to shut it off to give myself a break and try to pick it up again. I didn’t finish the last 2 hours

Not your typical storyline.

Just when the book started and I thought that it would be a typical - boy meets girl, etc. I was happily surprised by the twists and turns. Delightful.

Totally Cute!

I just fell in love with the main girl Randi. Whoever narrated her was just lovely. The book was a fun quick listen. The guy was a tad pretentious but I kinda ended up loving that about him 😂❤️ it’s a cute Valentine’s Day read for sure!

Inclusion Overload

Lovely story with lots of heart. I liked the deeper family themes. I just felt that a lot of the inclusion was forced, and didn’t add or tale away from the story. It was just done for invlusion’s sake.

Good story

I enjoyed this read. Easy story to listen to while working. Voice actors did very well.
