About this listen

From the #1 New York Times and USA TODAY bestselling author of the genre-breaking international TikTok sensation Butcher & Blackbird and Leather & Lark comes the final book in the Ruinous Love Trilogy—a friends-with-benefits dark romantic comedy packed with murder, mayhem, and spice.

Doctor Fionn Kane is running from a broken heart, one he hopes to mend in small-town Nebraska, far away from his almost-fiancé and his derailed surgical career. It’s a simpler life: head down, hard work, and absolutely no romantic relationships. He wants none of the circus he left behind in Boston.

But then the real circus finds him.

Motorcycle performer Rose Evans has spent a decade on the road with the Silveria Circus, and it suits her just fine, especially when she has the urge to indulge in a little murder when she’s not in the spotlight. But when a kill goes awry and she ends up with an injured leg, Rose finds herself stuck in Nebraska, at the home of the adorably nerdy town doctor.

The problem is, not every broken heart can be sewn back together.

. . . And the longer you stay in one place, the more likely your ghosts are to catch up.

Editorial Review

A circus performer walks into a clinic...
Scythe & Sparrow, the conclusion to Brynne Weaver’s Ruinous Love Trilogy, is finally here—and I was hooked from the moment I pressed play. This story has it all: tension, chaos, and steam that had me blushing one minute and literally saying, “Oh, my” out loud the next. Dr. Fionn Kane, trying to leave the darkness of his past behind, is living a quiet life in Nebraska when Rose, a circus performer with a dangerous secret, crashes into his world—literally. After an injury lands her under his care, their connection grows in ways neither of them expected, pulling them into a web of danger and desire. Eric Nolan and Samantha Brentmoor deliver a performance that brings every twist and stabby turn to life. —Patty R., Audible Editor

Love this trilogy

Nothing will ever compare to Butcher and Blackbird for me. It’s my favorite all time book. And I truly did not enjoy Leather and Lark. This book was better. The narrators are awesome. They did fantastic. I do miss Joe Arden. I thought the plot for this book was drawn out. But it was still good. BUT THE EPILOGUES! They were everyyything 💕💕💕💕💕

🧡I LOVE BARBARA🧡

~Scythe & Sparrow~The Ruinous Love Trilogy Book 3~Brynne Weaver~

~"The hardest secret was the one I kept from you. It was not telling you how much I love you, how much that love has consumed me. Even when I tried not to let it, you unraveled the life I convinced myself I wanted. I didn't think the man left behind was one I could trust. I thought I was keeping you safe from me by hiding those feelings away, but I was wrong. I'd give anything to go back and break every rule before the day we made them because I know now that I loved you even then."~

🧡I'm so sad that this triology has come to an end, but I'm also happy with how it all ended!! Brynne may or may not have ruined cotton candy 🤔. Maybe I'm broken, but I think it was used quite appropriately!! This book was so much fun, I loved Rose & Fionn so much!! They were absolutely perfect for one another, and I'm so happy the last Kane brother found happiness!! This book is 100% opposites attract in my opinion from what I gathered from the beginning of the book and the appearances in previous books, and I think that's why I loved Fionn & Rose so much. I love that Rose brought out Fionns' chaotic side, and that's when I realized they weren't so different after all. True love brings out your true self.

On a side note, I think my husband's grandma can crochet 🤔. I'm now on my way to find a feral raccoon to use as a guard dog, so wish me luck🤞🧡

~As always happy reading~

5 million ⭐️’s

I’m trying to process how to articulate how great this book was. It was emotional, funny, thrilling, and takes you on a true ride with these characters. At no point did I zone out (which is a crazy for me). I didn’t want the story or series to end. The male narrator was fantastic and it honestly sounded like I was listening someone on Quinn in some parts 🔥🔥🔥. If you don’t listen to this book you are really missing out on one of the best books you’ll ever read.
(Edit- this man is on Quinn. “Evil of Dublin”. )

Disappointed

I absolutely loved the first two books in this series. But I couldn’t get into this one . It was slow and boring to me .
