#1 BESTSELLING GLOBAL PHENOMENON

From #1 New York Times bestselling author Sarah J. Maas comes a seductive, breathtaking book that blends romance, adventure, and faerie lore into an unforgettable audiobook.

When nineteen-year-old huntress Feyre kills a wolf in the woods, a terrifying creature arrives to demand retribution. Dragged to a treacherous magical land she knows about only from legends, Feyre discovers that her captor is not truly a beast, but one of the lethal, immortal faeries who once ruled her world.

At least, he’s not a beast all the time.

As she adapts to her new home, her feelings for the faerie, Tamlin, transform from icy hostility into a fiery passion that burns through every lie she’s been told about the beautiful, dangerous world of the Fae. But something is not right in the faerie lands. An ancient, wicked shadow is growing, and Feyre must find a way to stop it or doom Tamlin—and his world—forever.

Very sexual

So I’ve read Maas’ other series, Throne of Glass, and I LOVED it. So I thought I’d try this one. It’s a good story but I don’t like it as much as Throne of Glass. Character development is just as good but the plot sometimes seems a little empty. Like it could have more substance. It does wrap up nicely in the end though. However, my main contention as a bookstore employee is that this is VERY SEXUAL compared to her other series. We have a lot of people who come in and have elementary aged children reading well above their grade level. As always, it’s up to the parents in the end but I don’t think this is appropriate for anyone under 13.

Romance novel thinly disguised as fantasy

I I am probably being a little hard on the book, just because I feel tricked. The book was sold as fantasy. I have never read a romance novel, but I suspect if I did, it would be a lot like this book, without the fairies. Extremely dull. 1/4 of The book is spent on descriptions of her feelings towards her fairy boyfriend. Come on, I'm a guy, the last thing I want to hear about is feelings. Sorry, but I can't recommend it, except possibly to teenage girls. No offense intended teenage girls. I honestly don't know what you ladies like.

I love you, thorns and all.

Fun and easy listen. Perhaps too much hype? The second half is when it picked up for me. I enjoyed meeting Rhysand. I will be continuing the series, eventually.

🎙️ Jennifer Ikeda’s narration fit the story well.

Jennifer Ikeda is awesome.

Tale as old as time...

I nearly stopped listening about 40 percent of the way through. It was predictable and slow. I enjoyed the ending of the book though. The last 20 percent was really exciting. The narration is amazing. The story just okay. The average came out to four stars.
