Twenty-year-old amateur sleuth Kim returns from a well-earned Christmas holiday, definitely one year older but not all that much wiser. Her business affairs appear to be going well, but she misses the challenge and thrill of a good case to solve. Just as she is getting truly bored with administrating her businesses, a fascinating case arises, and she is called into action by her fiancé in the Carabinieri. A terrible death has occurred, and the police have most of the facts at their disposal, but a crucial period in the relevant timeline is unaccounted for.

She also secures her own happiness by marrying for a second time.
