Like Stieg Larsson's Lisbeth Salander in The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo Ell is also a mathematical genius who, instead of counting sheep, works on her own theory of quantum mechanics to help her drift off to sleep. At once shy and concerned about her social skills, yet well loved by those around her, she finds herself at the center of a terrorist plot at the Olympics.

Vaz is the story of Vaz Gettnor, a socially impaired yet scientifically brilliant man. Despite his inability to relate to others, Lisanne married him in admiration of what she perceived as shy intelligence. The followup to Bonesetter, a pre historical account of a boy in a primitive society who learns to "set bones". In this second story he’s become a young man, and the tale follows his development as a brilliant inventor of ancient technologies. New tools that markedly improve the lives of his fellow humans. He gathers others to his new tribe, gains his adult physical coordination and finishes rescuing his old tribe from starvation.

Tiona, Vaz's daughter, is starting grad school in physics, has a "bad boy" musician boyfriend, and does her own strange variety of charity work at a homeless shelter. Her professor has her start work on a project to try to achieve high-temperature superconduction by doping the graphene membranes her lab partner has figured out how to precipitate.

Allotropes is the eighth in a series of near future SciFi/thrillers whose young heroine Ell Donsaii has a nerve mutation which has made her a genius as well as an athletic phenomenon. In Allotropes, she finds even more uses for the quantum entangled wormholes that she discovered. These wormholes aren’t big enough to send people through, yet they make possible technologies that create huge changes in our world. She installs some ports in her own body that she is able to use as weapons, delivering darts and drugs to stop her adversaries.

This gives him the ability to diagnose bleeding inside someone and then stop that bleeding by applying pressure inside the patient.

In Rescue, President Stockton tells the FBI to tone down its efforts to imprison Ell. Unfortunately, the SCDF, a group of ultraconservative survivalists now has the President in their sights.
