Joining us at Audible Studios is broadcaster, social media content creator and disability activist, Lucy Edwards. Alongside working for sight loss charities, Edwards became the first ever blind pre-senter to host on BBC Radio 1, promoting accessibility and proving that being blind doesn’t hold her back. Lucy Edwards has now written Blind Not Broken, a book about her story and how it can help others. We’ll be asking Lucy about rebellious hope, how her family worked together, and why it’s okay to feel two opposing things at the exact same time.

Joining us at Audible Studios is sleep expert and Professor of Circadian Neuroscience Russell Foster. He’s created a book called Life Time which looks in detail at how sleep and our body clocks are essential in building optimum routines for a healthy body and mind, and why we need to escape the trappings of the 21st century such as high-level stress and artificial light. And there’s no better person to have written it....

Best-selling author, Richard Morgan, talks to us about his award-winning novel, Altered Carbon, and its television adaption. The first chapter in the Takeshi Kovacs trilogy, this cyberpunk mystery unravels 400 years from now, when mankind is able to bypass death by recycling their physical selves and transporting their consciousness from one body to another. In this exclusive interview, Richard revisits the story and characters which first brought him major critical acclaim, back in 2002. He also addresses the many authors that influenced his writing and unveils what might be next for Takeshi Kovacs.

Born in Dublin, Dolan studied English at Trinity College, followed by a master's in Victorian literature at Oxford. Excerpts of Exciting Times have appeared in The Dublin Review and The Stinging Fly, but the book, which follows protagonist Ava and her relationships with Julian and Edith, can now be read and listened to in full - to great effect!

Joining us at Audible Studios is author and activist, Sophie Williams. We will be speaking to Sophie Williams about The Glass Cliff, her latest book which comes off the back of her viral TED talk on the subject. We will be finding out what the Glass Cliff is, how women are being sabotaged in leadership roles, why men are still receiving advantages over women in the workplace, and what success can look like for women.

Joining us at Audible Studios are Mayors of Greater Manchester and the Liverpool City Region respectively, Andy Burnham and Steve Rotheram. Andy Burnham has served as Mayor of Greater Manchester since 2017, and as Chief Secretary to the Treasury, Culture Secretary and Health Secretary among other roles during his extended political career. Steve Rotheram has served as Metro Mayor of the Liverpool City Region since 2017 and like Burnham, has long supported the Labour party.

Morgan is a prolific writer, and after a career spanning over 20 years, she shows little signs of slowing. Known for her television works such as The Split and The Hour, as well as the films The Iron Lady, Shame and Suffragette, Morgan's plays are regularly performed in theatres around the country. Now her name will be found on bookshelves too: Morgan's book, This Is Not a Pity Memoir, documents the havoc wreaked on her life over the last few years with her husband in a coma and her own treatment for breast cancer.

Rising to fame as a pop star as part of The Communards, Richard Coles has had a very varied career - he has worked as a vicar for several parishes after finding religion later in life, has appeared on many panel shows. He shared his life through his memoirs, including details of his civil partnership and grief following the death of his partner. Coles has begun writing fiction – the Canon Clement Mystery series – starting with Murder Before Evensong, and is with us to talk about the second in the series, A Death in the Parish.

Joining us at Audible Studios is David Wallace-Wells, deputy editor of New York magazine and now climate change writer with his book The Uninhabitable Earth. The book is based on a much viewed article David wrote of the same name which goes through the possible worst-case scenarios on our earth due to global warming, such as economic collapse, famine and overheating.

We will be chatting with Bryony Gordon about Mad Woman, her latest book which looks back over her life since Mad Girl was published. We will be asking how her views on mental health have changed, what you need to know about Dryrobes, and what impact the pandemic had on her life. Plus, the affect that perimenopause and hormones can have on mental health.

Joining us at Audible Studios is Katherine Ryan, Canadian comedian, actress, presenter and writer. Ryan moved to the UK in 2008 and began her career as a comedian with stand-up shows. Her debut television appearance was in 2012 on 8 Out of 10 Cats, and since then, she has been a regular on panel shows such as Mock the Week, Would I Lie To You and Have I Got News for You, as well as touring with her own stand-up routines. Ryan is also an actress, appearing in sitcoms such as Campus and Episodes.

After working as a creator for the journal Nature for a decade, being a frequent contributor to The Guardian newspaper for years and a regular host on BBC Radio 4, Rutherford realised that at some point he had become a writer and broadcaster on science and genetics. A natural at making the deepest depths of science understandable, Rutherford has again taken up his pen (and microphone) and this time enlightened us on the story of eugenics and study of genetics.

Joining us in the Audible Studios to discuss her latest books, Breaking Mad and Breaking Mum & Dad, is TV presenter, qualified therapist and Mind ambassador Anna Williamson. First finding fame on iconic children’s television shows on CITV, Nickelodeon and the Disney Channel, Anna decided to use her own experiences suffering with severe panic attacks and anxiety to help others.

An editor of the journal Nature for a decade, genetics expert Adam Rutherford has also produced several science documentaries, is a frequent contributor to The Guardian and hosts the BBC Radio 4 programme Inside Science. His latest title is The Book of Humans, published in September 2018. Adam Rutherford talks to us about whether or not humans are still evolving, what it was like to work on blockbuster Ex Machina and why sea otters are not as cute and cuddly as you might think.

Famed for her honest discussion with Prince Harry on mental health, Bryony Gordon is a feature writer and columnist for The Telegraph who also actively campaigns on the subject of mental health. Having already published two respected memoirs, Bryony’s third book, Eat, Drink, Run: How I Got Fit Without Going Too Mad, was published in May 2018. Bryony Gordon talks to us about exercise for her mental health, her top tips for running a marathon and setting up mental health mates.

Bob Roth, meditation teacher and CEO of the David Lynch Foundation, joins us to discuss his latest audiobook, Strength in Stillness: The Power of Transcendental Meditation. Roth’s audiobook examines what we might do to combat the growing stress epidemic which has gripped the world and why he believes that transcendental meditation is a key tool. In this interview we discuss what transcendental meditation is, how he first came across the technique and how the view of meditation has changed over the years.

Rutherford is the presenter of BBC Radio 4's Inside Science, as well as author of a number of books, including How to Argue with a Racist. Adam Rutherford spoke to us about his latest publication, How to Argue with a Racist, and we discussed the history of genetics, race being a social construct, his thoughts on ancestry testing kits and more.

We spoke about how rewriting one book taught her to write novels, how she got to go in a human centrifuge and being a huge audiobook fan.

Joining us at Audible Studios is award-winning novelist and mental health advocate Nathan Filer. His new book, The Heartland, breaks down the misconceptions associated with schizophrenia.
