Bumper is a young white rabbit who lived in the city but escaped from a pen where a nice little red-headed girl had put him. After avoiding some dreadful animals, Bumper has ended up in the woods where he is mistaken for the promised king because he is white and has pink eyes. Bumper quickly realizes that he does not have forest smarts and sets about to learn all he can about the woods hoping to fit in with the rest of the forest rabbits. He quickly finds out that the forest is not what he expected.

Paddy the Beaver is a newcomer to the Green Forest. The little people of the Green Meadows and the Green Forest are wary of strangers. They don't know what to expect of Paddy, especially when he starts building a dam and the water stops flowing to the Laughing Brook.

Old Mr. Toad is the main character in this audiobook. He teaches the listener lessons about thinking before talking, downside of self-pride, and how important old friends can be. Old Mr. Toad believes he is very smart and considers it a duty to teach his friends in the Green Forest important facts. There is even a villain in the book, Mr. Blacksnake.

In this collection of 16 short stories, Peter Rabbit learns how many of his neighbors in the Green Forest and the Green Meadows have come to have the attributes they have. Sometimes Grandfather Frog will tell Peter a story but there are other neighbors who also share their "knowledge" with him. For example, Peter wants to know why Mr. Weasel is an outcast. Peter would also like to know why Johnny Chuck sleeps all winter and gets so fat before he goes to sleep.

Denton Cassal is a sales engineer on a sales trip to Tunney 21. His mission is to recruit an engineer for his company, Neuronics Inc., with the aid of an electronic implant called Dimanche. On the way, Cassal has a transfer point on the planet of Godolph. Unfortunately, his transfer doesn't go as smoothly as he wants, and he now seems stranded on Godolph. Buster Bear's Twins is a story about two new residents in the Green Forest, Boxer and Woof Woof bear. The arrival of the Green Forest's newest inhabitants has Peter Rabbit, Chatterer the Red Squirrel, Prickly Porky, Hooty the Owl, and other forest creatures all astir over the goings-on in the Bear household. The two are twin siblings of Buster Bear, who is the subject of a Thornton Burgess audiobook. The twins, under the guidance of their mother, Mrs. Bear, learn important lessons about life and survival in the Green Forest.

Michael Tighe of the Psychotechnic Institute has been kidnapped by Thomas Bancroft, a politician with ties to an authoritarian movement called the Actionists. Tighe's adopted son, Simon Delgatty, sets out to find him, but is himself captured by Bancroft and taken to his base on an island off the coast of Mexico.

An army doctor on Earth is puzzled by a soldier who returns from asteroid Y-3 claiming he's a plant. As more men and women on the asteroid claim they're plants, the doctor decides to travel to the asteroid to solve the enigma. During his investigation, he discovers the soldiers believe they have been turned into plants by natives in the asteroid's woods called Pipers. The doctor goes into the woods in search of the Pipers and discovers a strange young woman.

Peter Rabbit has a great deal of curiosity. He always wants to learn more about his neighbors. In this collection of 16 short stories, Peter often visits Grandfather Frog to learn more about his neighbors. For instance, Peter wants to know why Striped Chipmunk has such beautiful stripes. Peter would like to know if Buster Bear has a tail. Since Grandfather Frog has lived a long time, he is willing to tell stories to Peter and his friends about how some of these things happened (according to Grandfather Frog).

Reddy Woodpecker is new to Pleasant Valley. Flying over Pleasant Valley one day, he decided to land and decided that it would be a good place for him to live. Reddy was strange to his new neighbors and some were rude and did not make him feel welcome but Reddy took it all in stride. As with all of Arthur Scott Bailey's animal stories, there are lessons to be learned about real life. For example, when Reddy met Cuffy Bear and they went hunting for grubs together, we learn about greed. Children are also introduced to new and different kinds of birds and their nesting and eating habits.

The Man with the Clubfoot is one of the most ingenious and sinister secret agents in Europe. It is to him that the task is assigned of regaining possession of an indiscreet letter written by the Kaiser. Desmond Okewood, a young British officer with a genius for secret service work, sets out to thwart this man and, incidentally, discover the whereabouts of his brother. He penetrates Germany disguised and meets with many thrilling adventures before he finally achieves his mission.
