Pinocchio è un classico della letteratura mondiale, uno dei testi italiani più amati e apprezzati in tutto il mondo. Il burattino di legno creato da Collodi è ormai diventato un'icona senza tempo, una vera e propria incarnazione dell'infanzia.

I "racconti delle fate" è una raccolta di fiabe tradotte da Carlo Collodi per l'editore Paggi di Firenze, e pubblicata nel 1875. Contiene l'adattamento italiano delle nove celebri fiabe di Charles Perrault contenute ne I racconti di Mamma Oca, insieme a quattro di Madame d'Aulnoy e due di Madame Leprince de Beaumont.

The story concerns a puppet who dreams of becoming a real boy. The book has appeared in many adaptations including the famous 1940 Disney movie.

"Le avventure di Pinocchio". Storia di un burattino è il titolo del romanzo ottocentesco che ha come protagonista un notissimo personaggio di finzione, appunto Pinocchio, burattino di legno al centro di celeberrime avventure. Si tratta di un classico della cosiddetta letteratura per ragazzi e fu narrato nel 1881 da Collodi (pseudonimo dello scrittore Carlo Lorenzini). Il personaggio di Pinocchio - burattino umanizzato nella tendenza a nascondersi dietro facili menzogne e a cui cresce il naso in rapporto ad ogni bugia che dice - è stato fatto proprio con il tempo.

"Kleines Bübchen, freches Püppchen, du wolltest doch zur Schule gehen - was ist geschehen"? Eigentlich ist das der Roman "Pinocchio" in einer Zeile - die weltberühmte Geschichte der Holzpuppe, die sprechen und laufen kann. Leider ist Pinocchio nicht besonders gehorsam; anstatt zur Schule zu gehen, gerät er in zahlreiche Abenteuer. Ob sich sein Wunsch, ein echter Junge zu werden, jemals erfüllen wird? Ein wunderbares Märchen.

La Bella Addormentata nel Bosco è una delle fiabe che Collodi ha tradotto dal francese e che, come dice egli stesso nella prefazione, "nel voltare in italiano (...) qua e là mi feci lecite alcune leggerissime varianti, sia di vocabolo, sia di andatura di periodo, sia di modi di dire: e questo ho voluto notare qui di principio, a scanso di commenti, di atti subitanei di stupefazione e di scrupoli grammaticali o di vocabolario.

Le avventure di Pinocchio, ovvero la storia di un bambino-burattino in un mondo di adulti: dove i fili che lo muovono sono spesso troppo corti per contenere la sua vitalità e il suo ingegno catastrofico. Pinocchio non è cattivo; ha semplicemente una curiosità sfrenata, irriverente, nel suo essere vivo e scalpitante. Capriccioso sì, e anche bugiardo, ma per la paura di esser sbagliato nel mondo in cui "è stato nato". Ma è anche e soprattutto buono, sincero, altruista, premuroso, intrepido e giudizioso.
