Publisher's summary

Dr. Jane McGill is in heaven.

She’s got a great job at a VA Hospital, an adorable daughter, and a loving husband. Granted, it would be wonderful if her preschooler wouldn’t wake her up at three in the morning, and it would be a miracle if her husband would change the toilet paper roll once every millennium. Still, in most ways, she has the ideal life she’d always imagined.

Then Jane discovers that Dr. Ryan Reilly is the VA’s newest vascular surgeon. Dr. Ryan Reilly, a.k.a. sexy surgeon, a.k.a. the biggest jerk she ever loved.

A decade ago, Jane broke up with the sexy surgeon to marry the nice software engineer, but as cracks and crevices appear in her marriage, she can’t help but wonder what life would have been like if she’d made a different choice. Or if it isn’t too late to change her mind…

Good life lessons but not as funny as Book 1

Enjoyed this book more than the first one as the main characters had matured. I found this book had emotional depth and compassion and was very moving.

The Devil You Know

I love everything from Freida!!! All her books have been well written and worth the $$$! Including the two about Jane McGill. They are shorter than the other books but I enjoyed the Dr Jane books! I’d really love to know about sexy Dr Riley though!!!

Redundancy Overload

I forced myself to finish because I do like the author but the nagging little girl was annoying throughout and everything was predictable.

Meh!!

I had the opportunity to listen to this book and some of it was good while others were very aggravating. Leah in one moment can speak in full sentences as a child telling her mommy how disgusting a bathroom was and then others she’s babbling like an infant not able to form a sentence as the 4 year old she was. Quite annoying. “Ring around the mommy the mommy” the story line was ok. It’s bouncing around the life of a very insecure doctor that’s in love with another doctor, but is married to her husband because the other doctor didn’t want to get married due to a disease he potentially had then finds out he does. The ending with the new baby Edward having blonde hair that matches the doctors but her saying she only kissed the doctor when the baby clearly looks like Dr. Riley leaves the reader questioning if she’s a liar.
Not knocking the book, just wasn’t as good as others by her.

My new favorite

I LOVED this!!!! I wish it was longer and that there was a Part 2 for this particular story. I didn’t the first book in this series, but this book is incredible all by itself. It’s such a great read/listen!!!

Deceptive

I didn’t realize Frieda made fiction non-thriller. Took too longer to get main story across.

It was a good book

Story was good. However, I was a bit disappointed that there wasn’t more of Alyssa. Idk maybe because of the title and how the first book went. But I still enjoyed

Good follow up story

I enjoyed reuniting with Dr. Jane McGill. The story was a good continuation of the first book and was entertaining to listen to.
