Publisher's summary

A short satirical thriller from bestselling author Freida McFadden.

My husband is dead.

I attended his funeral. I watched his casket be lowered six feet into the ground. (Actually, it may have been only five feet, but that still seems like more than enough.) And then we ate an array of finger sandwiches and deviled eggs and miniature beef wellingtons that cost more than my first car.

My point is, Grant is gone. And so are all his many, many deep, dark secrets which I never really ever bothered to ask him about. He is never coming back.

So why do I still see his face everywhere I go?

The Widow's Husband's Secret Lie is an utterly addictive, binge-worthy, nail-biting, absolutely gripping psychological thriller novella with a shocking, breathtaking, heartstopping, spine-chilling twist that you won't see coming, will leave you stunned, and will literally have you picking your jaw up off the floor and bringing it to the nearest hospital for major facial reconstructive surgery.

Murder mostvredundant

3.75 stars for this satirical short story by Freida McFadden. Who knew getting rid of your miserable monster husband would prove to be a repetitive task. The Widow’s Husband’s Secret Lie has twistsand turns aplenty. Lauren Ireland did an excellent job narrating the story of murder most redundant. I enjoyed this short story.

Satire Novel- not meant to be serious

This book was a quick read and was entertaining! Funny, ridiculous and kept me wanting to know more. It’s a satire novel- it’s not going to be like her other books it’s meant to be humorous and ridiculous.

Just ok.

I normally love her books and have listened to almost all of them. This one was not up to her other standards. He story was a bit absurd and I knew the ending (which I normally don’t). Disappointed.

Sad this was such a short story. Could’ve been so much better.

I keep waiting for new books from this author and the last two have been less than I expected. This one was good, but only about two hours. Why couldn’t she have developed this into a better book? Had so much potential but a little too condensed for me and not worth a credit.

Hilarious!

Love that she can make fun of herself and the genre! I just finished The Boyfriend and love that is was mentioned. I did purchase it, as it's too short of a book to use a precious credit. Glad it was on sale!

Well this brought back memories...

My husband had a condition called "intermittent explosive disorder," which involved random extreme anger outbursts for little or no reason. Needless to say we are not still together, and haven't been for a long time. Great story, though, I enjoyed it!
