Publisher's summary

Newly minted doctor Jane McGill is in hell.

Not literally, of course. But between her drug addict patients, sleepless nights on call, and battling wits with the sadistic yet charming Sexy Surgeon, Jane can’t imagine an afterlife much worse than her first month of medical internship at County Hospital.

And then there’s the devil herself: Jane’s senior resident Dr. Alyssa Morgan. When Alyssa becomes absolutely hell-bent on making her new interns pay tenfold for the deadly sin of incompetence, Jane starts to worry that she may not make it through the year with her soul or her sanity still intact.

The author has written better books

Ok story line with a predictable plot, book could benefit from adding some drama, crime, or mystery.

No substance

It was basically like watching an episode of medical tv show (ER, The Resident, Greys Anatomy). Definitely not one of her bests.

Definitely not a typical Frieda McFadden book

It was interesting to listen to but it was not a mystery very different than the other books I have read... unfortunately I would not recommend

Boring

Sad that this was not the author’s normal mystery genre - it didn’t have a plot.

Not what you're expecting

I'm a huge Freida McFadden fan and I have listened to all of her books EXCEPT this one!

This book isn't a mystery or anything like her typical books; it's more of a hospital romance (a poor one at that). It looks like it was just released, but it actually came out in 2013. It's not terrible, but if you're looking for what you'd come to expect from Freida, this definitely isn't it. Proceed with caution...

this is not new

I love the book but it's not new. I purchased this thinking it was part of the book I already listened to but it's the same book! it's upsetting because I spent $11 on a book I already have!

Not much

Not in typical Freida style. Boring, it was way too much like Grey’s Anatomy unfortunately. High school level reading.

I felt like I had a peek into freedom McFadden’s life

Freida McFadden has a knack for storytelling. I listened to this book in one day and couldn’t stop. Interestingly enough, I laughed so many times at the way she described an interns life. I understand how her books make the New York Times best-selling list. She’s an outstanding author!!
