A practical guide to healthier relationships

I’ve struggled with anxious attachment for as long as I can remember, and this book helped me understand where my fears come from and how to deal with them. The steps were clear, relatable, and easy to follow. It was refreshing to see practical advice on how to build trust and confidence in relationships without feeling overwhelmed. I’ve noticed a difference in how I approach my personal connections, and I feel less anxious about the future.

Eye-opening indeed!

To be brutally honest, I thought anxious attachment was just something in one’s head. I am so glad I got hold of this book for it has transformed my thinking and helped me understand the phenomenon. Like the author, my siblings and I had a difficult childhood. I am now able to see how that reality manifested itself and I am now able to recognise the patterns.

The use of anecdotes is particularly useful in clarifying the concepts expounded. I appreciated most the contents of Chapter 5 which is titled “Healing from Within” and the story of Jake and Eleanor. Many people (like me) will have a mindset shift once they have read this book.

Fabulous guide to heal relationships!

With this book I was able to understand why I kept feeling anxious about my relationships. It helped me to really see who I was at the core and overcome overwhelm in my day to day relationships. I now have healthy boundaries and feel much more at peace. Most helpful was being able to understand my own relationship DNA and personal attachment style. I now handle conflict with confidence and have practical tools to navigate situations that crop up. Great book.

A Great Resource

I've been dealing with anxious attachment for a long time, and this book was a big help. It's about understanding why people get anxious in relationships and how to stop it. The book talks about how childhood experiences can make people feel anxious in relationships. It also gives advice on how to change these patterns. If you're struggling with anxious attachment, I recommend this book. It's a good way to learn more about yourself and how to feel better.

Perfect!

Over the years, I have been learning about attachment styles, curious about improving my relationships with others as well as myself. This book was very informative and contributed to my journey. The tips and advice to support the information were on point, making it a book that I would recommend, especially if you potentially fall under the category of anxious attachment (or, equally important, if you are partnered with one). Worth a listen!
