What would you do if America and the world were invaded tomorrow by a relentless and brutal enemy? Portals from another world have opened in Central Park, making a way for figures out of historical nightmare to invade. The Fae, creatures banished from Earth thousands of years ago and now only part of our legends, have returned with Dragon fire, spell, and sword to conquer and take revenge.

The first volume of the Fae Wars covers Team Three, G squadron, Special Forces Detachment (Delta) as they fight their way off Manhattan and then join the defense of the refugees as the Fae assault the bridges. The fabled 69th Infantry puts up an epic fight against superior weaponry and then the war descends into the asymmetric hell that the Delta Operators know so well. Along the way they find new allies and old powers that come to their aid.

I like fantasy and Urban fantasy this book reminds me of Jim butcher Dresden files a lot.The fact that you put Roman history in here was a really good plus I like we're this series is going so far keep it up.For all you D&d/Pathfinder table top players you'll enjoy this book.

I know modern fighters v. fantasy characters has been done before. I know that it may even have been done better before. However, that doesn't mean this book isn't fun. Yep, there are plot holes. Yep, there is not much continuity between magic that was used in one chapter as opposed to another. However, the book ignites the imagination. It makes you lie in bed at night and put yourself there. It is a fun book.

I was hesitant about purchasing this book at first but I am now glad I did. The story was entertaining and original. The narrator brought the book to life.

The concept of D&D fantasy races invading our world is absolutely awesome! And Holmes & Marcum did a fantastic job of telling this story. Their military experience and the grounded approach they took in writing this story really made it feel realistic, while not sacrificing any of the amazing, otherworldly appeal that fantasy fiction has for its genre. I look forward to many more books in this setting!

I love the combination of hard military and fantasy but it's hard to believe that magic brought America and most of the world to its knees so fast. a cwis would cut down a dragon easy and I don't care how good magic is if you can't react to a missile going Mach 3 it doesn't matter how strong your shield is. I didn't like the underground star wars rebels hit and run story line. I was looking for 2 forces clash on the big stage. it is a good start to a new book but I hope we get back to big military

I downloaded this on a whim. I thought it would be whimsical and insubstantial but it's more hardcore and visceral. I look forward to reading the next one.
