Publisher's summary

A modern tale of unexpectedly falling in love and finding your voice, Kiss the Girl is the highly anticipated third installment in the acclaimed and best-selling Meant to Be collection.

Ariel del Mar is one of the most famous singers in the world. She and her sisters—together, known as the band Siren Seven—have been a pop culture phenomenon since they were kids. On stage, wearing her iconic red wig and sequined costumes, staring out at a sea of fans, is where she shines. Anyone would think she’s the girl who has everything. But lately, she wants more.

Siren Seven is wrapping up their farewell tour, and Ariel can’t wait to spend the summer just living a normal life—part of a world she’s only ever seen from the outside. But her father, the head of Atlantica Records, has other plans: begin her breakout solo career immediately, starting with a splashy announcement on a morning talk show.

The night before, Ariel and her sisters sneak out of their Manhattan penthouse for a night of incognito fun at a rock concert in Brooklyn. It’s there that Ariel crosses paths with Eric Reyes, dreamy lead singer of an up-and-coming band. Unaware of her true identity, Eric spontaneously invites her on the road for the summer. And for the first time in her life, Ariel disobeys her father—and goes with him.

Caught between the world she longs for and the one she’s left behind, can Ariel follow her dreams, fall in love, and, somehow, find her own voice?

Favorite so far

Probably one of my favorites in the Meant to Be series. I only have one left to listen to and I’m already mourning the end of this series. Every author who penned one of these stories did an amazing job, the mix of fairy tale and real world is perfect.

Lovely retelling

This was such a good read. I loved the retelling and all the little nods to the Little Mermaid. The characters were great, I absolutely loved all the band members of Starcrossed. The narrators were great as well!

I am really enjoying this Meant To Be series

These reimagined stories are modern, relatable (mostly) and the villains from the original stories are NOT the villains here. Instead they are supportive and tend to encourage the protagonist . . . I love that! This was no different! And let's be clear! I LOVE The Little Mermaid and Ursula/Vanessa has ALWAYS been my FAVORITE villain. 😈🧜🏾‍♀️❤

Such a fun book!

This Little Mermaid retelling was so fun to listen to! There are so many hidden Easter eggs within the story, and the characters were really their own people, despite being based on Ariel and Eric. I loved what the author chose to do with them, and how immersive the world was, following the band on tour. Lots of fun!

Zzzzzzzz

After reading the other Meant to be novels, I was hoping my luck would continue. It did not! The Little Mermaid has never been my favorite Disney movie. NOPE!
I liked Eric and his band.
The story stalled! I wanted to stop so many times. Maybe it was how it was written, maybe it was the prejudice I had towards the story of the mermaid. I just don't know.
I hope you have better luck then I did.
