Publisher's summary

USA Today bestselling author Meghan Quinn is back with a hilarious new rom-com series.

Sometimes the wedding of the century calls for desperate measures.

And sometimes those desperate measures are to pretend the person you hate most is actually your boyfriend.

After years of working her tail off at her event-planning business, Maggie Mitchell is ready for a vacation. With nothing on her mind but R & R, she’s enjoying the warm weather of Bora Bora when in saunters Brody McFadden, her brother’s best friend and also her sworn enemy. Thanks to years of tension between the two—kicked off by a make-out session at her brother’s wedding that ended horribly—Maggie has sworn to stay away from the man. That is, until she finds out he’s in Bora Bora for his boss’s daughter’s wedding, hoping to use the trip to win a real future at the company.

Maggie promised herself she wouldn’t even think of work on the island, but as word spreads about the “wedding of the century” taking place in the midst of her vacation, she realizes offering her services as a bridesmaid and planner could bring her business to the next level. The only catch? She needs to pose as Brody’s girlfriend to get the job…while letting him stay in her peaceful bungalow.

Tensions rise, irritation flairs, and despite years’ worth of bickering behind closed doors, Maggie can’t quite squash the sparks building between her and her new fake boyfriend, especially when she learns the real reason their first kiss was cut short. But as the wedding day draws closer and everything starts to go wrong, it just might be Brody who sends Maggie’s business crashing down—and her heart along with it.

Laughed so hard, so many times!

This was such a fun listen! I was so excited to see a new Meghan Quinn book, it was an immediate purchase - and it didn’t disappoint. I literally laughed so hard I almost peed twice (mom probs!), I don’t know how she comes up with some of these scenarios. But the snake situation was next level. The internal dialogue of Brody was too funny. 😅🤣 Erin and Jason brought the characters to life and get all the stars!

Keep the goods coming Meghan, you’re doing an AMAZING job creating fun, unique, lovable characters. I want to live in the Meghan universe!

PS - we really, really need to hear the backstory on Jude & Haysleigh (not sure if I’m spelling that right). 🔥

Jason Clarke is an auto buy every time, but Him and Erin are a DREAM TEAM. Listening in Duet, legit had me laughing so hard. This book is SO funny, and it flows so well with the characters and the plot.

Great story and narration

Bridesmaid For Hire was an entertaining story. I enjoyed it but I had a hard time connecting to our couple, event planner Maggie Mitchell and Brody McFadden initially but they grew on me.

The last thing either expected was to meet in Bora Bora. Neither can stand the other, although that did not stop them from hooking up at Maggie’s brother (Brody’s best friend) wedding.

There were quite a few emotions within this story, love, resentment, and uncertainty, betrayal and it was almost overwhelming. However, as I have come to expect, there was also humour. Some of Maggie and Brody’s scenes had me laughing out loud at times and I felt for Brody as he constantly got himself into embarrassing situations.

As Maggie and Brody moved from enemies to lovers, their story became intriguing and I quickly became invested in the story that Ms. Quinn wove.

Erin Mallon and Jason Clarke performances brought this story to life. They brought all the angst, passion, romance and humour to their performances and their voices are easy to listen too.

OMG!

Omg! Meghan writes the best spicy romcoms! Brody is a cinnamon roll. The poor guy can’t catch a break. He runs into bad luck at every turn. Maggie is a strong, independent businesswoman. It’s a refreshing role reversal in the romcom scene! The spice is delicious as always in a MQ book! Jason Clark & Erin Mallon are my FAVORITE narrators!

PARADISE WITH A TWIST

Just finished listening to this audiobook. I don't think I've laughed as I did for this book. Meghan Quinn's writing of tension and banter between characters is unlike any other author.

Maggie and Brody end up crashing into each other literally while in Bora Bora vacation resort. Maggie is a sassy independent workaholic. Brody is a hot mess trying to get a let up in his career by attending his bosses daughters wedding. Maggie see's an opportunity to advance her career and attaches herself to Brody whol has secretly been pining over her for years.

The narrators did an amazing job, I LOVED the duel style performances from Jason Clarke and Erin Mallon. Their portrayal of Brody and Maggie's personalities were well done. I could feel their tension, hate, lust, sadness for each other throughout the book.

Love a good cinnamon roll.

Oh my goodness. I think Brody might be one of my favorite MQ heroes. <3 I am a sucker for a good cinnamon roll and he is top shelf cinnamon. It was comical as well as tragic listening to all of the situations that poor man finds himself falling in to. Maggie is a master ball buster. I had the best time with their story. And as Meghan does, gets me all in my feels by the end of the story. Mr. Hopper is lucky that he is fictional character and doesn't have to feel the wrath of me. He pissed me off to no end.
Erin Mallon and Jason Clarke are the best romance narrators. The way the capture characters is unmatched. I don't think I want to consume Meghan's books any other way anymore. They bring so much richness to the story.
