Publisher's summary

A single mother working in a thrift store. A gentle giant farmer who can’t find jeans that fit. When opposites attract, they find themselves making alterations in more ways than one in this smoking-hot short story by #1 New York Times bestselling author Tessa Bailey.

Evie Crowe is starting over in a strange town with her newborn, and men are the furthest thing from her mind. If only the quiet, hulking farmer, Luke Ward, would stop coming into the thrift shop and piquing her reluctant interest. Evie wants to stay single all the way—she can’t trust anything more than friends-with-holiday-benefits. But Luke is in it for the long haul. He’s fixed on making this a Christmas Evie will remember forever. If she gives him a chance.

Tessa Bailey’s Merry Ever After is part of Under the Mistletoe, a stirring collection of December romances that thrill and tingle all the way. They can be read or listened to in one swoony sitting.

The writing. The story. The narrators.

Tessa Bailey can pack so much into a short story! I loved every second of it. This is a fun little story between a girl that works in a thrift shop and a hard working farmer. I loved this Christmas story! The narrators were excellent!

Cute and quick listen

The narrators were fantastic as usual, and this story felt like OG Tessa stories. It was quick, cute, sweet, and spicy. I enjoyed it! Tessa always writes men that are obsessed, and I’m here for it!

✨Thoughts✨
𝐖𝐡𝐞𝐧 Luke and Evie first met, sparks flew instantly. Evie, a single mother working hard to manage her second-hand shop, was initially wary of Luke's advances due to her responsibilities as a parent. However, Luke's genuine kindness and willingness to go above and beyond to make her comfortable quickly won her over. This was a sweet novella with plenty of spicy scenes!

𝐓𝐡𝐞 dual narration was great. Connor Crais is always a delight to listen to. He's one of my favorite narrators!

cute

Exactly what I expected from a Tessa Bailey novel. Man obsessed and doesn't stop till he gets the girl. While it was short, it brought the spice, that is for sure.

Merry Christmas indeed

A lovely smutty, short holiday novella as only Tessa Bailey can do it. Great vocals as well.

Steamy Holiday Novella

Merry Ever After is a fun novella that made me smile. Evie is a single mom who works at the local thrift shop. Luke is a burly farmer who goes to the shop to look for clothes that fit. When Evie and Luke meet, sparks fly. This is an instant-lust, friends-with-benefits situation, so no real relationship development exists. It doesn't take long for things to heat up between Evie and Luke. The narrators, Summer Morton and Connor Crais, did a great job with the story. Connor is one of my all-time favorites, so he can do no wrong in my eyes. Summer is new to me, but I think she did well with what was given. This wasn't my favorite. The dialogue was a little cringy at times, and the characters were a tad awkward, but the ending was sweet.

An ode to his monster Yule log.

Snork. This was OTT even for a holiday quickie. He’s telling her he’s gonna make her his and she’s calling him daddy on what I swear was the first day she stepped foot in his house.

This isn’t small town, big farmer romance; this is for anyone shipping a modern day pioneer woman and a dirty talking, self professed possessive “brute” who’s really, really big.

Did I take this remotely seriously? No
But do I regret listening? Heck no.
The dual narration sells this naughty nutcracker.

Cowboy novella

This was such a good novella for the holiday season. I loved the new to town single mother who captures the eye of the local giant of a cowboy.

Filled with laughs, some light romance and spice!

The narrators Summer Morton and Connor Crais did an amazing job bring life to these characters even with it being such a short story! But I can definitely say that I would love more Cowboys narrated by Connor it’s the perfect fit!
