Aristide Valentin, head of the Paris Police, is on the trail of the ingenious criminal and master of disguise Flambeau. Valentin suspects that the Flambeau is going to London to attend a conference of clergymen to steal the precious religious articles on display there. Orthodoxy (1908) by G. K. Chesterton is a classic of Christian apologetics. The audiobook is a companion to his volume of essays titled Heretics, and focuses on the Apostles' Creed. It was written when Chesterton was an Anglican; he converted to Catholicism 14 years later. The prose is witty and incisive, meaning Chesterton at the height of his power.

In "The Invisible Man", a murderer manages to get in and out of a house, even though it is under constant observation. In some ways, the story parallels Poe's "The Purloined Letter" but adds its own unique touches, particularly in the character and methods of priest-sleuth Father Brown.
