Nikola Tesla believed the universe was never bound to spiritual or natural laws, but is in essence a machine where we are but a mere part of. In this 1915 text Tesla applies the mechanical theory of life to the greater events of the time such as the war and the earthquake in Italy. He states that the man as a machine is joined in a universal wheelwork that feeds cosmic disturbances to our world and as a result introduces calamities that are, in the great scheme of things, not at all arbitrary but interconnected.

The Chisholm Trail was approximately 800 miles long, running from San Antonio, Texas to the shipping pens at Abilene, Kansas. This trail was an important part of the old west and part of the lives of thousands of cowboys of the 19th and into the early 20th century. Millions of cattle and horses accompanied their drivers on the two to three month journey; its economic importance extended across the nation to the east as the livestock moved over this trail was headed to market to feed much of the United States.

In Dagon, the protagonist is lost at sea for days, wading through dead fish and other foulness, until he comes to an island with a monolith on a rocky hillside. Scottish reformer John Knox taught that Mass was an idolatrous practice. In 1550, the Roman Catholic church brought a charge against him for this controversial position. Ivan Sergeyevich Turgenev (1818-1883) was a Russian author, translator, and popularizer of Russian literature in the West. "Mumu" is about Gerasim, a deaf-mute serf whose life of poverty is brought into sharp relief by his love for a dog he rescues from drowning. His wealthy old mistress sees the dog Mumu and wants it but Mumu bares her teeth at her, and tragedy follows.

Manly Palmer Hall (1901-1990) was an author, lecturer, astrologer, and mystic. Over his 70-year career, he gave thousands of lectures and published over 150 books. But when his time comes and he is exploring the castle in wait, he manages to successfully end the curse by deflecting the fatal blow of Charles - the son of the man who was killed so many years ago.

With this address, US President James Monroe set a precedent for the nation’s foreign policy.
