Publisher's summary

As the months in the time loop seem to add up without end, Zorian forms alliances with acquaintances old and new in an effort to solve the mystery of the loop and save his city—maybe even the world—from destruction.

But while his mage skills develop and he pursues more advanced and unusual forms of magic, Zorian must battle necromancers, fanatical cultists, and vicious creatures—all while avoiding the attention of the lich who could kill him...permanently.

Fun Story. Nice continuation.

Overall this was a great continuation of the story from Arc 1. I will admit that I still cringe a little at Jack Voraces' attempts at mimicking female voices though. I'm kinda wishing that there was a second female narrator that could have been plugged in to take care of that but hey, it is what it is at this point. The story itself makes up for it though. I like how there are so many subtle tie ins that you get from previous parts of the story that makes more and more sense as you go along. Like the cat staring at the water on the bridge and the mention of Kyle's handwriting from Arc 1. Great attention to detail in my opinion. I would definitely recommend others check out this series. Truly worth the credit. 💯

speed up by 1.2

the content is great but the narrator is tough to listen to for long. by speeding up playback to 1.2x or 1.3x it is much smoother and easier to listen to. CANT WAIT FOR ARC 3 IN SEPTEMBER

Loving this series

There is a lot I could praise about this series and nothing I could complain about. So I will just say 2 books in and I am still hooked.

Another great book in the series.

I am very much enjoying this series, I hope the author continues creating works. The narrator did a great job as well and I am looking for other titles he has narrated.

One of my favorute series

I got this story recommended a while ago and really liked the writing, a lot of times i struggle with storys heavily featuring time travel, but this was one of the few that really pulled it off, cant wait for arc 3

Story is good, narrator is meh

I loved this story so much, I took the time to sit down and find the web novel (royal road is the official site for it, unless you have a kindle) so that I could finish it. Then I stayed up late reading so I could finish it. Now that it's done, I feel so satisfied.

BUT the narrator real needs to work on his verbalization skills. I don't know if it's the weird nasal tone he affects (even though he can get rid of it when he voices some of the chars) or the way he pauses awkwardly or puts emphasis in weird places, but I found him hard to listen to. It got easier after a few hours, but I don't know if that's because I got used to it or if it actually got better. I still think I'd be a little turned off from future titles that he narrates. It's so hard to enjoy a story if the narrator is distracting.

Regardless, don't be dissuaded. The story is worth it. Just be patient with narrator and you'll get used to him after a while. If you really can't stand him though, there is a web novel (which you might be checking out later anyway so you can read the rest of the story).

good book

I'm a little disappointed in the time in it takes to output the second book of this audible series, but it was a goodie.

Mother of Learning

This has been an enjoyable series so far. I like the characters and discovering more about them after each restart. Interactions with characters like instructor Xzim were highlights for me with this series. The main character, Zorian, in particular is intelligent, strategic, and has good morals which makes it easier to root him on. There are just a couple small points I have some criticism regarding. First, the story gets a little repetitive, and yes, I do understand that is the theme of this series. Still, it probably could use some editing. For example, the amount of repeat solo dives into different webs could have been shortened. Zorian also plays baby sitter for his sister more than preferred. I would like to see him get away from the starting zone even more. Also, at times I found the main character's reasoning can be a little frustrating. He takes a lot of risks given his situation yet holds back at other times when he shouldn't. Lastly, each book seems to end with a cliff hanger.

The narrator is good! I don't understand some complaints on here. Jack Voraces has a variety of voices he draws upon. I particularly liked the spider voice he does. Jack puts feeling into his work. I've listened to a ton of narrators on Audible (over a thousand books in my library) and I think this one is doing an above average job at story telling so far.

Excellent story despite the narrator.

Like arc one, this story delivers very well on lore building and plot, and the protagonist feels intelligently written. Voraces continues to try and assassinate the story with his reading and "accents", but if you can tolerate him there's an excellent story in it for you.
