LitRPG means Literary Role Playing Game. Simply put, it’s the book version of watching someone play a video game, usually one that’s set up like an MMO (massively multiplayer online) RPG. It’s a blend of sci-fi and fantasy, depending on how it comes to be that our main character ends up living inside a virtual reality. the point of LitRPG is not how we get there, but that we get to be in this virtual reality period, living life as a badass video-game character. Beat the grind and submerse yourself in these addictive LitRPGs.

too many dead zones/filler

Great story but too much on dragging out the stats of levels and points. Not enough showing or using those skills given from acquiring the points.

It was good but reading stats was over done.

I enjoyed it but almost half of the story is just stats being said over and over. Can't wait for the next book though.

I love the book except 1 thing.

I love this book, Jake is a fantastic character. But I'm gonna say, I don't give a flying rat about the other characters and their dedicated chapters. We have William, we know he is a terrible person, we don't need multiple chapters to establish him as the bad guy. I don't care about middle manager Jacob. I don't care about Caroline, or anyone else.

if you are into side characters, there is plenty of that here. but if you're interested in the main character being a badass, it's here. but if you don't want a heavy focus on characters vaguely related to the MC getting entire chapters dedicated to them, then you're out of luck.

Weird stopping point ...

Pretty fun story, kinda slow, mostly about a guy off by himself, but there are enough side character chapters to keep things from getting too dull.

Ends very abruptly though, did not feel like an ending at all.

Story

The people in this story have been introduced into a video game which they go around killing people and animals. I do not like game situation where you have to kill people to advance.

Great example of litrpg

A socially awkward analyst gets a chance to let to and become something more when the world is is turned upside-down.

I loved how the characters other than the main character were actually addressed by the system and other great powers.

I look forward to the sequel.
