Class secrets revealed. A large shoe to fill. Peace is only on the table.

Joe’s candidacy was successful beyond his wildest dreams. Between driving the elves out of dwarven sovereign territory, utterly destroying an army of thousands, and using resources he could have used for himself to bring back the fallen on his own side...his reputation begins to precede him once more.

The human was so successful that many people even within the dwarven faction have decided that they need to step forward to stop him. Realizing that he’s been in the public eye too long, Joe decides that it’s time to step out of fighting the war and instead focus on completing new quest lines and consolidating power.

After all, letting other people decide the course of war has always worked out for him in the past.

Narrator make me sound like whiny idiot

Love the book. Don’t get me wrong this narrator is usually very good. But he waaaaaay overdid it on this one. To the point that I couldn’t enjoy the book. I was really looking forward to this book and he ruined it for me. Made the MC sound like an idiot the whole time. Never serious or even just normal. IDK maybe the narrator doesn’t like the MC and that’s why he gave his voice a sarcastic whine through the whole book? Please if you read this dial it back alittle!!!

a great experience boost!

This series keeps getting better.
by themselves the story and the performance is amazing.
but in combination they become awesome.
A tale filled with characters who are comical, but still real. A plot that is refreshing in its unpredictable twists.
Most important is the fact that the main character is still A Champion of the Pun!
A story filled with laughter and punny moments 😉

Solid Sequel for the series! Will listen again, A+

Not super packed with action, but man was that a good book! - And that’s not to even mention the several surprising funny scenes lol.. Plus the world, or should I say, city building, is impressive and the pace of everything was very satisfying, usually I get worried when characters don’t progress quickly enough, but there wasn’t any drawn out scenes to speak of in this one, really just entertaining from start to finish :)

Everything about this series is awesome and I look forward to the next 10 installments!!

Awesome!

Honestly, apart from the story itself, the narrator is the best part of this series. I love the distinct voices he has for the main characters. Even the little gurgle for Mate :)

Politics and Aspects

This volume focuses pretty heavily on personal development for Joe. That’s cool. Politics is great and all but it’s cool to see him developing his powers with a good mix of adventure and plot development. Joe is getting pretty versatile in what he can do but it definitely takes a jump in logic to accept it. It’s like his power is basically the power to do anything with magic. And the idea that there’s these basic quests he hasn’t had access to until now is pretty crazy for a game but it was well implemented in the story at least. The author does tend to drop things without proper emphasis though as he’s done with some of the guild members just being there all of a sudden. And the idea that some opposing leaders would just agree to meet for no apparent reason sounds completely insane. The ending was one of the biggest climaxes as usual, and while it doesn’t involve Joe as much as I’ve come to expect from the main character and shouldn’t really have been a possible matchup, I have to say that it was pretty well done as well. It’s easier to list the downsides but the story is enjoyable overall for sure. Not a 5-star series but a consistent 4-star with 5-star narration!

Luke Daniels makes this book, fire.

This series is always Luke's best work, or at least my favorite of his. He makes Dakotas character come alive.

The book itself is good, a nice town builder section again.
