You may think anger makes you tough, but if you're angry all the time, deep down there is something bothering you - either out of fear so it acts as a shield,or from harboring deep emotional pain from the past because of someone or something.

S.U.M.O. stands for Shut Up, Move On. It's a phrase to say to ourselves (and sometimes others) when we are acting or thinking in a way that is hindering our ability to succeed. It doesn't necessarily mean "get over it" or "pull yourself together" (although there may be occasions when both responses are necessary): "Shut Up" means stop what you're doing, take time out to reflect, let go of baggage and beliefs that hinder your potential; "Move On" means tomorrow can be different from today, look for new possibilities, don't just think about it, take action.

Easy to use guide
I want to start with the caveat – this book won’t instantly teach you anger management. It does provide concrete step-by-step tools and tips for dealing with anger. The author starts out by discussing how anger keeps us from the ability to have solid friends. When it comes to dealing with anger, there’s a clear focus on the rewards for dealing with angry such as better friendships and better health. The author encourages listeners to look at the source of anger (“No one is born a mean person”) and acknowledge past traumas.
To make the most of this book, you need to listen to it over and over and digest each section. Some sections may take longer than others. I like that there are different exercises – evaluating your response to different situations or observing the behavior of people you admire. Another great title from a great series. I received this book in exchange for an honest review.
