About this listen

Aegis will dive through hell for his allies, even if it costs him his sanity.

Locked in a sub-level lair in search for the ultimate key to their enemy’s plans, Aegis and his team are faced with a dungeon keeper cunning beyond belief. Beatrix–a white-scaled dragon–is hell-bent on stirring chaos within the tightly-knit guild. She twists together their pasts and pits everyone against one another. Even the specialized training endured on their journey proves not to be enough. Time is ticking away…before the enemy links a new world to Strathmar, and unleashes a reign of diabolical beasts upon both.

With no other choice, Aegis does everything in his power to push through each layer, clinging desperately to his sanity on every turn to stop the gate from opening and ending all worlds.

Will he be able to emerge with his friends intact? Or will he fail, losing even more control to those who want to tear Strathmar apart?

Sometimes hard to follow as there are holes in the story line. Sometimes you just have to go with it when things aren’t really explained thoroughly

Love the narrator.

I did not write reviews for previous books as.. I wanted to see if the things I did not like will make sense in future, but that did not happen.. so basically overally for 3 books that are out now is this one review.
1. Setting
Rotten world, society ending etc.
It did not sound as "post apocalyptic"? More like "men went to ultra capitalism" back to lording over people as kings/dynasties?
I did not recall any apocalyptic event that would "destroy" the world, for scientists to try to "save people" from it, by moving to other worlds or even "creating" ones.
Logically rich would be first one to move anyway.. cause they would be keeping scientists on short leash.
2. Younger brother still alive?
If they transfer their "mind/soul" between real and "dream" world, they mentioned that it just puts body to coma.
Younger brother was on the death door spewing blood out all the time as he was put in, being alive years after makes no sense.
The credits would be expected to go to doctors to keep body alive, not just for the "family" or whoever was the target originally.
How do you spend "credits" in world without working economy?
3. Moving back through portal?
I mean.. it is "sci/fi/fantasy" mix, but forcing people to join dreams in a superpc that could be shown as brain of the first dreamer later, would make sense. Using portal from basically "AI" to get back with the superpowers and completely "dreamed up" body.
4. While I do like nice endings, and clear good-evil, here we had basically "power of friendship" + "plot armor" at work, that it kinda jumped too many fences for my liking.
There are abook that I will re-listen every time new one will be added into series (Heretical Fishing/HeWhoFightsWithMonsters etc.) but this is.. I'm interested in future one, but I do not see myself re-listening this series.

I liked the premise but..
