another knockout from actus.

Pretty great

I love me a crafting litRPG.

This one is almost entirely to my tastes too. Pretty badass MC, no real, stupid characters, good, but not ridiculous stakes, satisfying progression...

My only nitpick is one I have with most of these 'regression' type stories.

Oftentimes, when characters lose powers in some way, they tend to 'think' at the level they were too. If I could change one thing about this story, it would be to better show his experience during fights. He shouldn't be getting distracted, he shouldn't just blindly charge in.

His mind should be his deadliest weapon, instead he leans far too heavily on borrowed power.

You wouldn't even need a massive change to fix this. instead of 'Scourge' gifting him boosted strength, it's not beyond the pale to think an incredibly experienced fighter could manipulate his inherent magic to a level sometime at his tier should never be able to. I don't know why he needs a title for this, makes him less interesting.

Regardless, I'm looking forward to book 2.

Good start

There is only one story element that feels like it cribs a little hard on the “Unbound” series, but otherwise a good litrpg that doesnt waste a lot of time reading stats.

Fantastic start to a new series! Thanks Actus...

Fantastic! Actus pulls out another great litRPG and Peter Berkrot is perfect bringing it to life with his great narration! And I can't wait for the next book, absodamnlutely can't wait! This book allows the Hero of Man and the Demon Queen to actually take a look at themselves in a whole new light, and of each other. To stop being bitter enemies on the battlefield ready to kill each other. But with their new class' in place it allows them to be just an Innkeeper and a Smithy, something that previously had only been a dream, a Smithy and a possible client.?. And maybe, just maybe even a friend!?! So yeah grab the book to find out if the Smithy, an Innkeeper, a Warden, a Warrior and a Healer can join forces to form their own guild!

Here's a couple of quotes that amused me:

“I remember that there were some pretty big lizard things, though.” “Lizards? Sounds like those could be useful.” “Did you miss the big part?” “Big means there are more spots to stab,”

I’m going to eat you, and I’m going to like it. That isn’t a threat. It’s a promise. Oh, who am I kidding. It’s also a threat.

“I ain’t no robber!” Arwin raised an eyebrow. “I’m a reallocator of goods.”

every thing is a lie

The great hero. the demon queen. dying in combat only to be reborn. What would you do if you could start over. And would the world let you? Great story and I can't wait for more.

So so familiar

It’s some crazy dejavu. But this sounds so familiar to something else I’ve listened to. But not sure what. I kinda feel like I’ve purchased this book twice.
