Talking About the Elephant in the Room

I have a 10 year old foster daughter with behavioral needs. This book is a life-saver. While I've always been great at masking my anger around her when things are tense, I've never known how to express anger healthfully or cope with it in private. This book provided real world examples and exercises that can actually be implemented in every day situations, not just hypothetical techniques. I highly recommend it!

amazing concepts to apply at home

Not a huge fan of the personal storyline approach; however, the book offers excellent insights and practical strategies for managing emotions and fostering a positive home environment. The step-by-step framework makes it easy to apply in daily life, and the emphasis on structured communication, like morning meetings, is a game-changer. Highly recommended for parents looking to improve family dynamics with clear, actionable techniques!

Valuable

By the end of the book, you’ll feel more confident in your ability to manage your anger and guide your child’s behavior in a positive direction. What’s particularly reassuring is the emphasis on progress, not perfection. You’ll be reminded that it’s okay to make mistakes as long as you’re committed to learning and improving. This approach takes the pressure off and allows you to focus on building a healthier relationship with your child, one step at a time.
