  • Summary

  • Dear Kelly, They really, really hate me!

Mookie arrives at Camp Cartwright and quashes any hopes of being cool or even accepted. Late at night, after Fanny has fallen asleep, the girls tell Mookie the legend of the Lady in the Lake and the girl who went missing from camp 25 years ago. Is it not Mookie’s responsibility as a budding young reporter to get to the bottom of this? If she can’t be at journalism camp this summer, she decides to bring journalism to camp instead.

Super Cute

I feel like the storyline is authentic. I'm sitting in my room alone ducking my head in embarrassment at the quirky things that I couldn't get right at camp. And I am therapeutically laughing off the old shame.
I'm definitely Mookie, except I wasn't a reporter. I just sounded like one because I qouted and paraphrased factual info, but I was actually a "normal kid," except I wasn't a winner like Mookie's mom. I'm a runt with stretchy joints, and limited coordination. WHICH IS WHY, this podcast brings memories flooding back to me good, great, and mostly, awkward. However, overnight camp was the best because it's where I learned to laugh back in the people's faces, who were being vapid and exclusive. For which eventually evolved into the ability laugh in the face of acsociety that would do the same.
I love stories that can conjure authentic nostalgia.

childhood days

This was a good story & is a good one if you want to reminisce about your camp days, if you were one of the kids who went to camp. It's also just a fun light reading with great imagination & childhood days in general.

It was love at first listen!!!

I listened to episodes 1-8 and I loved it!!! The story is so cute and fun. I was 11 when I went to camp not knowing anybody and I could SO relate to Mookie!! It brought back so many memories! This would have been a must listen when my daughter was younger, her stepson just turned 11 and I’m definitely going to share with them!!! The writing and the performances were 100%!!!

NOT family friendly.

This is a cute little listen with DAUGHTERS.
I would never let my son listen to this , there’s discussions about shaving girls private parts, thongs, bras, and just far too many things for him to begin asking questions about as a child.

Found by accident, love on purpose

Looking for something to listen to on the commute to school my daughter and I stumbled onto this. It’s relatable and funny, suspenseful and heart warming. We enjoyed it so much we’re listening again!

good

Lame forced plot, flat characters, and unconvincing relationships. However, the humor is rapid fire, cleverly worded, and hilarious due to solid acting and delivery.
