About this listen

"Prepare to be captivated by the heart-racing, page-turning reunion storyby the heart-racing, page-turning reunion story." --Lynette Eason, USA TODAY bestselling author

When a massive earthquake levels the region, secrets and unknown dangers are exposed…

The ground in still-icy Yosemite National Park isn’t stable, and K-9 handler Von Sharpe fears the worst. But his worries are pushed aside when he sees an SUV viciously forced off the road…with his ex-fiancée at the wheel. It’s only when Stella Rivers steps out of the vehicle that the very ground under their feet cracks and breaks with the onslaught of a terrifying earthquake.

When her meeting with a mysterious client is ambushed, Stella witnesses the man being gunned down by a sniper and becomes a target herself. With the threat of aftershocks triggering landslides and floods, the new mom has no choice but to run to save her baby girl—even if it means teaming up with the man who has no idea he fathered her child.

Trapped in a dangerously unstable wilderness with a killer closing in, Von and Stella are running out of time to get to safety. And every fissure reveals a new secret that will shake them to their foundation…

The budding romance was put through a lot of trials, but love triumphed!

I I liked the readability and no need for censorship. A book for all ages.

suspenseful

Dana Mentink out did herself with this book. This audio was amazing. The book drew me in from the first and the suspense and action and twists and turns in this book kept me on the edge of my seat. The ending I never expected except of course where happiness happens (I always look for that because God wins every time). Get this book and or the audio. I learned things I didn't know about Yosemite, earthquakes and storms as well as so many different people dynamics and the awesomeness of K-9 dogs of course continues. I don't want.to spoil the plot, the twists, the turns, the narrow escapes etc so I will just say I am a huge fan of Dana Mentink and her books. I have read a lot of her books and haven't found one I haven't liked. she is an amazing author. grab this one for sure. you won't be disappointed

Pretty good

I actually decided to get this because Abby Craden is the narrator. It was a good listen, but I never like books that leave unanswered questions.

I'm a sucker for stranded together tropes...

Vaughn & Stella: triggers: stalking, gun violence, natural disasters, grief, loss. this was a really good suspense thriller but a romance this was not. I was also say that maybe this book should be classified under Christian or Christian romance. there's absolutely nothing romantic about this book not even a kiss. I do admit that the story has me in a chokehold and I could not stop listening. I will say that I think that this should be narrated by a male and female narrator and probably a different female narrator as well. her voice was so completely monotone and boring and even in the action sequences, there was no excitement at all. other than that, I enjoyed this book, I just wish there was more focus on the couple as well as the information mystery

Healing

This book was riveting yet heart warming. Full of mystery and suspense that wasn’t predictable yet also dealt with grief and second chances. I loved it! It brought me to tears and that doesn’t happen often.

The story was really good and the narrator did an incredible job. I wish this was a series.

Good story

The story is good. Not outstanding. Not bad. Just good. The discovering of god’s purpose for themselves in the middle of everything was not what I was expecting and made me eye roll often. It’s not for me. Again, that doesn’t make it terrible, just not my cup of tea.

Enjoyable book

The title caught my interest as a lover of Yosemite National Park. The story was enjoyable. The action moved along throughout the book. The narration was tough for me to listen to.

A dud for me.

Some might call it a slow burn, but for me it was a slog. No steam. Way more internal dialogue than I need from a brooding male character. And a little of the gross feeling you get from the friend or acquaintance who never stops casually inviting you to their church or bible study group. If not for the mystery aspect, I doubt I would have finished at all. A little surprised by all the glowing reviews.

Christian fiction

I didn't realize this was Christian fiction until it was too late. The Gender stereotypes really irked me, especially the main character stella who was so weak, yet they always talked about how strong she was as a mother.
