About this listen

When hundreds of birds fall from the sky into Slayton's lake in a terrifying freak event, the waters are dredged - revealing a dark, long-held secret.

An old pram is pulled from the depths, with the bones of a baby still strapped inside.

It's the moment that new mother, Cora, has been dreading since she moved to Slayton - because someone knows, and is going to make her pay.

With the help of forensic anthropologist Sophia Hudson, and the extraordinary young Elliott Carter, Detective Sarah Noble gets to the bottom of a cold case that refuses to stay in the past. Will she survive the secrets of the bone house?

Perfect for fans of Cara Hunter, Alex North and Stephen King.

The Slayton Thrillers, with Detective Sarah Noble, can be read as standalones, or in any order.

I have loved all three books in this series so far! The characters are interesting, the plot is full of twisty turns and I'm already looking forward to the next one!

Wow!

This is the third book in the series and I did not see the ending until I heard the last sentence. Really looking forward to what comes next!

Creepy!

So much evil! So many scary things happening to babies and a young child. Yet, I couldn't put it down!

She does it again!

This author never disappoints. I love the creepy vibe of the Slayton thrillers. I keep wondering what’s in store next for Sara. I feel like there’s huge potential for a crossover with the detective Jennifer Knight from the paranormal crime unit. Elliot has a gift and I can’t help but think Sara has one too that she’s unaware of or that she’s suppressing. Just a thought!

Meh.

Better than the Midnight Man but not as good as the Night Whispers. Couldn’t get into this one as well. The main character, Sarah, is still too “fragile” to be a detective. And the epilogues in this series always last way too long.
