About this listen

An unrequited love, small town romance from Wall Street Journal and USA Today bestselling author, Devney Perry.

Vera Gallagher is chasing constant. For four years, her life was anything but normal. And the years before that she refuses to even remember. Dwelling on the past only hurts. Life is fragile, a lesson her mother taught her well. She’s determined not to waste a moment of her newfound freedom.

Maybe some would consider her crush on Mateo Eden wasted time. Maybe some would call her a fool for loving a man who hasn’t once dropped a crumb of interest her way. Still, to Vera, it’s Mateo or nothing.

He’s handsome. Charming. Witty. And he loves his family the way Vera loves—with her whole heart.

Maybe he’ll never notice her. Maybe she’s too damaged, too broken, to find that normal life she craves. Maybe her secrets will always keep them apart. But Vera will love him anyway. Whether Mateo realizes it or not.

A great ending

A great ending to a great series. Glad to hear Mattie and Vera’s story play out. I’ll miss the Eden’s!

Love this whole series

One of my favorite series. However, the male narrator for this book was rough. Zero emotion. Still loved the story.

was a great ending for the series

I liked the female narrator very much but the male when Matteo was talking with other characters was OK but when he was on an inner monolog there was no emotion just reading.

A great ending to a great series

This audiobook was fantastic. I love Samantha Brentmoor and she as always did fantastic narrating this one. Ryan Hudson was a new narrator to me and I did enjoy his narration.

I have been so excited to get Matteo’s story and even more excited it was with Vera. Now unrequited love is not a trope I enjoy very much but Devney Perry was able to make it worth pushing through the awkward moment when it comes gushing out how big of a crush Vera had on Matteo and how he doesn’t notice. I don’t do awkward moments in books and I might have sped up the audiobook really fast to get past it but I’m so glad made myself push through.

Vera has had such a tremulous life for the few years before meeting the Eden’s. They are exactly what she needed I welcome her back into society and help her find her way. She fits in so well with the family. One thing I loved about the timeline of the book being a few years was getting to see Matteo as a dad throughout the first couple years of being a single dad and oh he could make you melt as a dad.

Once these two were together they were each other’s biggest advocates and I loved seeing how they both helped the other find their way. They were just so damn good together. I loved the moments when Matteo wouldn’t let Vera pull herself back or get too inside her head and how she helped Matteo see what he wants for a future. It was such a great ending to this series even if I don’t think anyone is ready to move on from the Edens.

I LOVED THIS BOOK!

4.5 stars! I am so sad that these series is complete! I have been so invested in each of the Eden children's stories. In Sable Peek we meet Vera and Mateo. Vera has a traumatic past and is working on moving forward with her life. She has always watched Mateo from afar but doesn't think he has ever noticed her. To be fair be has not, until one night all that changes. Then he sees her very clearly and wants to be around her and get to know her secrets. Vera has walls up and Mateo is patient and supportive and works hard to breakdown her walls. I loved the relationship between Vera and Allie.

I love this series and recommend everyone read it!

Read if you love:
* romance with some suspense
* single dad
* found family
* MFC with a traumatic past
* a supportive and swoony MMC

5/5 narration! They really brought the characters to life and conveyed their emotions!

The relationship with all the Eden’s how Vera realized she had a family.

I wish we had more closure with the dad and perhaps him being able to be free.

This one was a great surprise! I was not disappointed in spending the extra money on credits for this.

Great ending but read it - don’t listen to it

I hate to agree with everyone but the males voice ruins the book. I wish I had read this one instead of listed to it.

Good end to the series

I loved this series, and this was a good way to close it out. My only complaint is that we didn't get Matteo's POV at the beginning of the book. I would've liked to read firsthand about him finding out about his daughter and flying to Alaska to get her instead of him just telling Vera about it later. I thought he and Vera worked very well together though, and the little snippets of all the other Edens were perfect.
