Publisher's summary

Summer is heating up for reluctant psychic Riley Thorn and her handsome private investigator boyfriend, Nick Santiago. First, her disapproving grandmother arrives determined to make Riley take her powers seriously or face the wrath of “the Guild”. Then there’s the homicide detective, who needs her help figuring out who murdered the well-dressed corpse in the walk-in closet.

Nick’s got his own hands full with a tricky missing person case, and his parents who want to know why he didn’t tell them about his live-in girlfriend. Then there’s the fact that he’s still the tiniest bit stressed about Riley almost getting murdered earlier that summer. The last thing he wants is her getting involved in another investigation.

Things go from bad to worse when the body count starts stacking up, the meet-the-parents dinner goes horribly wrong, and their elderly roommate is up to no good...dressed like a mime.

To top it off, Riley is forced to return to Channel 50 on official police business to question her spray-tanned news anchor ex-husband and his new weather girl fiancée.

The trouble comes to a head when Riley receives a warning from the killer: Back off, or she’s next. Someone has to solve these murders before she becomes the next corpse.

Glitter beware!

Riley Thorn and Nick Santiago may have to be one of my favorite Lucy Score couples (Brick & Remi from Forever Never is the other). This story keeps you guessing on the who did it. I love the progression of Riley and Nick’s relationship throughout the book. There are plenty of laugh out loud moments and smh (why cant Riley and & Nick ever get their well deserved alone time?!- the roof scene… had me laughing and shaking my head). If you loved the first book, you will love this book as well. There is a bit of a cliffhanger that will get you excited for book 3 whenever it is released!

Natalie Duke is back as narrator. She does her thing and is great! You will be laughing throughout!

Laugh out loud funny

This is such a fun series. The characters are so likable. The plots are funny and yet this book addressed a serious social topic. I’m glad I found it.

Cute series

This is such a different type of series by Lucy Score and the change is fun. The older neighbors are a bit too much for me. Hopefully they will be less front and center throughout the series—they are too much of an annoying distraction for me (but others may disagree).

"Do not wait for death to make you a good soul."

There are not adequate words in the English language to define and express just how much I love and appreciate this series.

While I know I am late to the party when it comes to reading this series, I truly believe that I began reading this extraordinary, hilarious, delightful rom-com-meets-mystery series at the exact perfect time when I needed the joy and laughter that Lucy Score's talent put within these pages.

I will sing of Lucy Score's talent and praises, and encourage any and all to read AT LEAST this series of hers because we ALL need to find the joy and laughter in the moment.

My most favorite quote from this book is:

"Death strips away everything we think is important only to reveal what actually is important, " Elanora said.

"All souls remember their truth once the distortions of life begin to fade."

I love anything written by Lucy Score! Her characters are so well developed and storyline is complex, yet easy to follow. And the narration is amazing!

A really fun story

Picks right up where we left off with book one. Great story, twists and turns and so many laughs. Nick has emotional growth and Riley gets to deal with grandmother who wants to whip her family in shape. The secondary characters are all back and the shenanigans abound. I know I’ll listen again.

Brilliant addition to the series!

This is a wonderful second book of the series.
Very enjoyable! Full of laughs! Crazy characters! I enjoy the turn that Nick and Riley’s relationship has taken. One of my favorite scenes is when they meet his family and there is a discussion of whose family is worse…then they talk about them meeting? ha Ha! I can only imagine! It’s really a toss up which is my fav family but boy did I enjoy those scenes.

There also were many top notch secondary characters. His family, her family, the elderly roomies then add in the people that we randomly meet. Gabe I just really love! He is an A+ character. I also enjoyed how Nick got “Alistaired”.

I am loving this author! The way she writes bringing these characters and their situations to life. She doesn’t write over the top funny just funny. Adding in the token cow was genius!

I did listen to this on audio. Natalie Duke rocked the narration of all these characters! She does wonderful! She levels up this story!
