About this listen

"Newsflash. You don't buy me, a$#%^*e. You earn me."

The bride is a doll. The groom is the perfect gentleman. But the rest of the wedding party? They're the stuff of nightmares. Rich? Check. Vapid? Double check. Entitled? Not enough checks in the world. And the best man? More like the worst man.

But maid of honor Franchesca takes her duties seriously. Kidnapped groom? She's got this. Rude attendees? You just watch her handle them. So a best man with a big attitude and an even bigger...checkbook? Yeah, there's no way she's going to let that pretentious, judgmental jackhole ruin her best friend's wedding. No matter how sexy he is. (Well, that's the plan anyway...)

Aiden Kilbourn doesn't do long-term relationships. He's busy ruling the business world, and has yet to find a woman he can tolerate for longer than a month, two at the most, anyway. Conquering the unconquerable is basically his bread and butter. And he hasn't met a challenge that he can't win. But Franchesca Baranski? This smart-mouthed girl from Brooklyn may just be his downfall.

Funny Brooklyn girl!

Lucy Score is the best at these quirky rom coms. This is no exception. She also masters the art of a woman of the metoo era. She brings females that want to stand on their own and stand up for who they are. She also writes men who believe women can do it all and go after men who do not follow suit. I always love how she embraces the world we live in today and the females that portray our bright future. Frankie is a no nonsense Brooklyn girl who works her way through school and is so smart and super sassy. She is ultra confident in who she is and what she believes in. She is who I want to be when I grow up. Aiden is a socialite gazillionaire who can’t help but fall for Frankie despite not wanting to. He takes a lot on his shoulders to try to do better than he is. Frankie is the beat kind of person to help him do that. The socialite world is somewhere I could never relate and don’t think I’d want to. I live how true to herself Frankie remains. I love how Aiden loves every aspect of her including her family. Also the dirty talk and sexual tension is off the charts. They are insatiable for each other. I love this book. It is now my number 2 from Lucy Score.

Also a very refreshing ending. Pay attention that there are 2 bonus chspters on Lucy's website..
great narration by Nathalie. I do have to say that sometimes there are sentences which are really hard to understand.

Aiden and Franky

I enjoyed The Worst Best Man, it kept me entertained and even thinking about the characters after the story was over. I liked the banter between Aiden and Frankie's brothers and Ma made me smile with her smacks upside the head. I loved Frankie's smart mouth and how she didn't let anyone talk down to her no matter who they were, that's my favorite kind of h. At first I kind of rolled my eyes at how upset she got over something years ago, even though her friend loyalty was awesome, but then when it was said she was always looking for a reason it made more sense. I didn't feel like either of the H or h dominated the relationship which was such a plus for me! All in all I would recommend this book and say it is a 5 star read.

All In Forever

I was looking for a read that would make me laugh and I knew a Lucy Score book would hit the spot. The Worst Best Man was just what I needed. This was such a hilarious and sexy enemies to lovers slow burn romcom. It had me laughing out loud throughout. I both read and listened to this one and it almost felt like 2 stories in one. The first half was filled with wedding hijinks and certain details gave me lots of Pride and Prejudice vibes. The second half focused more on the progression of Aiden and Frankie's relationship and reminded me a lot of Pretty Woman. I loved how Frankie always held her own and how she pushed against Aiden's white knight complex, choosing to be Aiden's partner and equal instead. Frankie's family was absolutely over the top and a highlight any time they were on the page.

I will admit that I was intimidated by the length of this book (the audio clocks in at almost 12 hours!). I thought the story meandered at times making it feel overly long. The family issues and drama caused by Elliot's reveal at the end were predictable, but didn't take away from my enjoyment of the book. Natalie Duke's narration was fantastic! She pulled off Frankie's snark and Aiden's swagger so well. I especially loved the voices she used for the Baranski family. Her comedic timing made the barbs sing and I enjoyed her performance so much. The epilogue brought the story beautifully full circle and was the perfect way to bring things to a close.

*Note: The ebook has a link to an extended epilogue (it takes place a year later) and I definitely recommend it.

Feisty heroine finds her match

Lucy Score’s books never disappoint. Love the characters she creates and how strong and independent her heroine is. Frankie is a take no nonsense girl from Brooklyn. Aiden is a guarded billionaire who fell hard for her during a destination wedding. Their chemistry is off the chart and the secondary characters are a hoot especially the Baranski. There are so many scenes that will make you laugh so hard your middle hurt. It’s rom com at its best.
