About this listen

He was a Hero. Now he's not. He'll stop at nothing to rise to the top again.

Max was murdered, but now he is mostly over it. Living on earth as a recent college graduate, he can still perfectly recall his past life on the fantasy world of Albion before that. He'd been hailed as the "Hero of the World" after crawling his way up from poverty, eventually enjoying great fame and luxury.

But on mana-starved Earth, he's just a guy.

However, when Earth is suddenly attacked, changing the natural laws of the world and threatening all life on the planet, Max will get a new opportunity to regain some of his lost power...and then some. He discovers an entire system of multi-dimensional colleges created for those gifted with a Path.

The universe is much larger than Max had even known ever during his first life. Max is not the Hero of Albion anymore, but the drive to excel is still part of his nature. And the more power he has, the easier it should be to save his world.

...Right?

The narrator is a bit slow, but if you speed it up you get a nicer experience.

The story is good and the MC is quite interesting.

Would recommend 👍

Interesting MC, good flow of the story

I like how the MC isn't a complete and total do gooder trope. He has faults and struggles, but tries to do the best he can. A great book. Really looking forward to book 2. I've already pre-ordered it.

A more believable MC

Liked the book overall was a bit putout, Initially by the swap from apocalypse to an academy story, then the story took, in my opinion, a nose dive. personally I think the goddess, that has contracted the authors others MC's, should have been kept out of the story.

Should have kept the God(s) from the different series out of the series.

Wow, didn’t expect an academy arc but i am not disappointed. This is one of the standout litrpgs of 2024 and only the 2nd ive dropped a review on. Cant wait for book 2.

The characters and story

I've been getting into more litrpg books recently and its been so hard. Not only are the litrpg books ive listened to so long winded in explaining (which is fair) but the MC does combat once in a blue moon. BUT THIS!! THIS IS SO GOOD DUE TO THE COMBAT!! and the sprinkled in detailed about his path/class and other stuff. Plus the MC actually has a reason to be so wise and have some intresting questions and perspectives. This book is so good for people who have listened to Battle Mage Farmer but didnt like the farming part (still a good book to listen to! unless you dont like cheese). I AM VERY EXCITED FOR THE NEXT BOOK !!!

So GOOD

slow start, but astounding acceleration. Blaise has done it again!! phenomenal story. you will want to read a lot of his other books prior to getting to this one though. it's not required, but it definitely helps.

a combination of stories

The whole story was very well written in that air. Raider did a fantastic job.

The development of the character.

I like this MC a lot. He's got the goods, but he's not infallible. Also, I love that he knows stuff, but he doesn't know everything, and that the he doesn't even presume to have all the answers. He's an imperfect guy, fantastic character development, especially at the end. Action scenes could be beefed up little bit, but it's still pretty good. IMO I'd rather get B-grade action scenes and A-grade story telling ....than to get A-grade action scenes and a C-grade story.

Well done my G. Blaise Corvin is worth following. I don't like everything he does, but he can write ...and as for the stuff he does that I do like ...I like them a lot!!! This book was awesome. Very much looking forward to the next installment.

This was good ...I want more

Story was really interesting, VA can’t really do female voices very well but that’s okay still really great!

Story was great

The start of the book started really good. Very down to Earth, with earth problems.
Then what seemed to be getting good, suddenly it started to become a book about going to school, with classes and everything.
It just got weird, but overall it’s a good book. I just wish the preview actually previewed a little bit on that. Kinda felt a bit lead by the nose.

From Hero to School?
