Publisher's summary

For a party planner in awe of the royals, daydreams fit for a queen might come true in a captivating romantic comedy by Sariah Wilson, the USA Today bestselling author of The Hollywood Jinx.

For as long as she can remember, Everly Aprile has been obsessed with the Monterran royals, especially Queen Kat: elegant, self-possessed, and living a fairy-tale romance. As for Everly, her career as an event planner has stalled—and so has her love life. Then a wealthy new client wants a sweet-sixteen party that’s fit for an American princess. Practicing her “What Would Kat Do” mantra, Everly offers to bring it to life by immersing herself in everything Monterra.

Call it intervento divino when she meets dizzyingly handsome and charismatic Max Colby, who’s relocated stateside from the Monterran kingdom of her dreams. If Everly promises to be his New York City guide, he’ll teach her the customs and culture of Monterra so her party gets a boost of authenticity. Deal. As their friendship grows, Everly starts falling—but for what? Another unattainable obsession? Max is such a dreamboat that surely he sees her as just a friend.

Her royal to-do list is in order. She’s revamping her life and learning to believe in herself. Maybe, just maybe, there’s a chance for fate to bring Everly her happily ever after after all.

Darling slow burn romcom!

Party Favors is surprisingly my first book by Sariah Wilson & I can’t wait to read more! All my friends recommended this book & I can see why. It’s an adorable slow burn romance with a sizzling undercurrent of attraction & so much party planning fun!

Everly Aprile’s one of those easily relatable characters you want to cheer for. As a lover of all things Monterran, she eagerly anticipates anything Queen Kat does or wears & wants her own fairytale romance. After several years working as her handsome boss’ right hand at an event planning company, she’s finally given a chance to plan a 16 year old b-day party with a Monterran theme which’ll hopefully earn her the promotion she deserves. She’s also had an unrequited crush on her boss until she finds out he’s engaged.

When her snarky yet endearing roommate suggests she go out & meet someone, she ends up finding a dreamy guy newly relocated from Monterra. He offers to explain Monterran customs if she’ll be his unofficial tour guide. The sparks fly as these two get to know each other. But, can Everly let go of her insecurities & trust that he cares about her too?

I loved this story! Everly has a lot of self doubt mainly because of her father. Though she’s extremely talented, she’s never pushed for recognition. Things change when she meets Max & he encourages her to throw a baby shower for his cousin. I loved all the behind the scenes party planning as well as all the fabulous iconic New York places they visit like the Empire State Building. Max has his own secrets & I have to admit while I had my suspicions, I didn’t see a particular twist coming. It was so well done. I also loved Everly’s roommate Vella. She’s described as a grown up Wednesday Addams. I loved her snarky personality & how she was so fiercely protective of Everly. I’d love to get her story!

Everly’s & Max’s romance was full of sizzling kisses & attraction. I loved all those near kisses & sweet hand kisses too. I also enjoyed the growth these characters go through as they learn to better communicate. I also loved Everly gaining more confidence in herself & her desirability. I listened to the audiobook version and loved the narrator. She did a fabulous job bringing all these characters to life. I especially enjoyed how she voiced the main characters with various accents.
Highly recommend to closed door romcom fans!

Loved it!

I loved these characters! The narrator did such a fantastic job with the accents! American and Italian were done so smoothly! I thought the storyline was so fun and loved that we got to see previous characters from Monterra! Loved it!

Adorable

First, very slow burn and no spice…which some people will want to know. Such an easy listen. I’d call it a beach read. Adorable story about finding who you are and where you belong.

Pretty good

I thought the book was one of Sariah Wilson’s better books since the #series (#awestruck, #moonstruck( the best), and #Starstruck). I really liked the performance of Bailey Carr. She gets all she can out of the novel. I thought the surprises the author got using the Monterran backstory was good. Max seemed like a good character initially but was not truthful with Everly that makes for problems later. Those of us who read the prior Monterran novels were led to different conclusions regarding Max. Nicely done surprise. Siriah Wilson has always been one stress absence as a positive choice until marriage and the problems faced by those that make this choice. This wasn’t one of those books. The hot make out sessions in my opinion were a little over done. I think the most interesting character in this story was her roommate Vella, mysterious, beautiful, strong and with an edge. I would recommend this book.

loved it!

I love a main character that figures out they are stronger than they thought. I also loved the theme of women helping each other! Great story!

Sounds like a therapist wrote it

I think it’s pretty unrealistic. However, someone who is really into talking about their emotional baggage and feelings might enjoy it.

maybe I'm getting old

Maybe I'm getting but the main characters seemed so immature. The characterization by the narration actor made it worse at times. I usually enjoy sweet fluffy romance books but this one made me not want to "read" anymore by the writer.

Ugh.

If you like sappy sweet, WEAK and ridiculous characters then you’ll love this book, I had to skip chapters just to get to end because it’s so bad and the female narrator doing Max’s voice is about the worst narration I ever ever heard.
The only thing good about this book was the epilogue
