Acerca de esta escucha

What could come between a nanny and an earl in a fairy-tale love story? A reality check—in an endearing and witty romance by Sariah Wilson, the bestselling author of Roommaid.

With her sister’s medical bills mounting, Diana Parker can’t say no to a high-paying opportunity like this: accompany a wealthy couple to Aspen and nanny their precocious five-year-old son for three months. Necessary qualifications? She must know how to ski and teach math, speak fluent French, excel at social graces, and hold a master’s degree in childhood development. Who’ll be the wiser that Diana’s only skill is packing for Colorado?

So far, so good—having a con woman for a mother has turned out to be a benefit, even if Diana has complicated feelings about telling lies. But she’s doing this for her sister. And the perks—like a ticket to a lavish charity fundraiser, a new gown, and a Prince Charming-adjacent earl named Griffin Windsor—are pretty irresistible. Diana can’t deny the Cinderella vibe.

Wary of gold diggers and scandal, England’s most eligible bachelor is nevertheless falling for Diana, and sweeping the not-quite princess off her feet.

The warmer their relationship becomes, the slipperier the slopes are for Diana. Sooner or later, she’ll have to come clean. When that happens, does an honest-to-goodness happy ending stand a chance?

MY TAKE
This was a fun story. The characters are engaging and likeable which can be a rarity to too many books (and real life, sadly). I loved Diana's employers and Milo and Sophie were adorable kids. Griffin was a great guy, but his flaw was kind of a big one. It's a good thing he made up for it.

And I could never remember what it was he was supposed to have done that made grumpy granny so mad at him. Since I was listening to the audiobook, I couldn't go back and flip through the pages to see if it had been specified. The narrator, Marli Wilson, did a great job.

Fun!

I've read/listened to a few books written by Sariah Wilson. She is an excellent author. This was a fun, sweet, and at times heart breaking romance. It was perfect to listen to before diving back into darker listens. I really enjoyed this one.

Marli Watson is an excellent narrator. She did both male and female voices well! Easy to listen to for longer periods of time. Great performance!!

*I listened to this audiobook through the Kindle Unlimited program.

Who doesn’t like a royal fairytale? And I love how the characters overcame personal flaws and gave brut honesty and forgiveness. I love how the writer is so brilliant that she doesn’t have to rest to fowl language and graphic sex scenes to keep you interested. The story speaks for itself. Sign me up for more!!

Excellent Story!

This Cinderella variation was very good. I highly recommend it. However, it’s probably more of a 4.75 star than a five star book. This is the first Sariah Wilson book that I would consider scoring that low. Despite that, I did really enjoy the story and would suggest anyone listen to it or read it!

Stories by Sariah Wilson are Consistently Good

I was ready for a quick, easy, light-hearted read ... and this fit the bill. Included in KindleUnlimited with text and audio. I went with the audio edition and liked it. This definitely was an "insta-love" romance. Unlike so many romances out there, this didn't have a ton of the angst/misunderstandings that can be SO frustrating to me (reading, I know the whole story of course). The "Cinderella" angle wasn't huge, but she is the poor/help and he the "prince" and there was a little "shoe" tie-in. And on that thought ... there was an exchange between our MC and her employer ...

"what size shoe do you wear?” she asked.
“Ten.”
She looked discouraged for a second.
“I wear an eleven."

I used to work in the shoe department of a department store. We only carried women's sizes 6-9 (what they assumed most average women would fit). To have two unrelated women that both have feet on the larger size ... this seemed so odd to me, a play on the traditional tiny-footed Cinderella?

Clean - I'm not recalling any language or sexual situations.

Cute
