Sweet story

Overall the storyline and the book was good. It was a bit slow at times at other times it amused and at times brought tears; however, the narrator was stilted and hesitant to me me. The flow was almost stilted and boring for the most part almost reminded me of a professor reading from a text book.
If you can get past that, it was an overall sweet story.

McCarthy Road

I really enjoyed this book. Kennedy inherited her uncle's inn. She plans to sell it. The inn is in Alaska and she has a life in New York City. When she goes to Alaska, she finds herself liking it. This causes her to reevaluate her life .I liked Meghan Kelly's narration.

The story that leaves you with warm feelings

This book is a beautiful romantic story. It is a great book to enjoy during long winter evenings with hot chocolate and a warm blanket. The story is very smooth and sweet. There is no drama or violence. This book is about family, appreciation, and romantic love.

The narrator did a superb job. She was great at giving each character their own voices and displaying their emotions. She has made this book even more pleasurable to listen to.

Excellent

To go from the business of the city to the vast wilderness of Alaska, would take some doing, To stay would take magic and love to stay there. Delightful heartwarming story. With excellent narration to enjoy. Well done. Given audio for my voluntary review

Well done...love the life of these characters

This is a cute story. It has elements of surprise and a little danger as well as loving townfolk. Kennedy is the superstar here. She brought her kindness and applied it to this town. Adam has a delightful family and wow does he do a lot! I’m sure it’s normal for him but I am surprised. Alaska wilderness is a different place.

Overall this is an enjoyable story. It’s easy to be drawn into their lives and this town. I did listen in audio. Meghan Kelly did a great job narrating. I love her different voices.

Fabulous Story & Narration🎧 Sweet & Delightful!

I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this fabulous story. It is my first book written Katharine E. Hamilton and definitely not my last, she is a gifted author with a wonderful writing style, she created interesting storylines and characters who are realistic, easy to relate to and connect with. I loved how natural the story flowed and how her descriptive details takes you right along side the characters to see everything through their eyes. I adored the two lead characters, Kennedy ”Ken” Donovan and Adam Stockton, the secondary are awesome too. Kennedy, a chef in NYC, inherits her Uncle Neal’s Inn in a remote area of Alaska. She did not know what to expect before going there but she found out McCarthy Road is a gravel road and not the safest to travel on. She makes it there to find out the inn is located in rural Alaska surrounded by wilderness. Luckily the people in the small town are friendly and helpful, especially Adam who was friends with her uncle and took care of the Inn after this passing. Kennedy just wanted to check out the place and figure out what she wanted to do with it, which meant most likely selling it. Her stay winds up being longer than planned and she starts to fall in love with the place and the people, especially Adam. She did not know much about her Uncle, who was estranged from the family but in time she learns more about him and who he was. I loved how everything plays out in this book, the story is beautifully plotted and contains a whole lot of heart. This is a sweet and clean romance, there is small town charm, it also shows the challenges of living in remote areas, how people help and look out for each other. Katharine E. Hamilton, thank you for this fabulous story.

🎧📚🎧 And for the wonderful narration, Meghan Kelly is a talented narrator and versatile voice artist. She performs the voices for all the characters, gives each their own distinct sound which makes it easy to follow along and tell who is who. She portrays each character with perfection, grasps each persona then takes the role and makes it her own. Her take on Kennedy was spot on, as was her take on Adam. She sets the perfect tone for the story, captures all of the characters emotions and projects them in to her performance. She is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another fabulous listen.

Fall in love with McCarthy Road

Alaska is a place on my bucket list, and I love to listen to books that take me there. Katharine E Hamilton has taken me to the coldest of places, difficult to get to, but warms my heart. Kennedy is a successful chef in New York. When she receives a bequest from her uncle in Alaska, she takes the time to go to see property. When she arrives, she is taken in by the charm and people, especially Adam. Adam was close to her uncle and took care of the inn. With sparks flying and snow falling, will Kennedy find she wants to stay? Hamilton gives us a beautiful view of Alaska with this small town community. I fell in love all of it! There are a few twists and turns as well that keep the story fresh and exciting. It's a great listen.

Brought to life by the talents of Meghan Kelly, I felt like I was there in the kitchen, cooking with Adam and Kennedy. She has a way of connecting with her characters that make them feel alive and real. Each with a special voice, she had me falling in love and enjoying my afternoon.

Delightful, feeled with true emotion

This was such a delightful listen, I downloaded it last night and listened to it at one setting, I just could not put it down. It is a sweet, clean, exciting listen that had me chuckling and kept me smiling. There is a little mystery that you work out early, a little bit of a surprise that gave Kennedy a big surprise. They author blends it well in the story. The description of Alaska makes me want to go there and see this little town, it maybe hard county but it is so beautiful and I hate cold but I wanted to jump right in the book and play in the snow, see the wild country and be part of this town.

The narrator did a delightful job delivering a delightful listen, with wonderful character voices that blended great with the characters. I really could picture them in my mind, she gives wonderful emotions that you can really feel how the characters feel. I had no trouble knowing who was talking and what they were feeling. When Kennedy rolled her eyes and through snowballs I could picture it in my mind and had to laugh. There was no background noise, no repeating of words, no volume change just a very clear audio that I totally enjoyed. I really enjoy the narrators voice, it is pleasant, but strong, caring but she knows how to draw out the thrills, and even a chill. She makes it easy to picture the story in your head, she made me laugh and chuckle. Really bring the story to life. Ms. Kelly knows how to deliver an audio that keeps you hanging on with true emotion that gives you a delightful listen that you enjoy and can’t put down.

Once I started it I couldn’t put it down, looking up a was in shock when it said midnight and the story was over. I was sad for it to end, I really wanted to hear more about this town and their people. I enjoyed it so much that I bought the series, (not sure when I will find time to read) but did added all of this authors audio to my wish list do buy later. This is a well blended story of hope, caring, love, with true emotion that will touch your heart. It is sad but at the same time happy. You can’t help but smile, laugh and chuckle as your heart breaks a little, filled with a big surprise that blends well with the story line. The author and narrator blend well together bring to life a wonderful story of companion, finding yourself, healing old hurts, a little danger, sorrow, love but most of all bring a town together. It is a wonderful, delightful sweet romance that you won’t be able to put down.
