Eloise Foley, known to her friends as Weezie, has been through the divorce from hell. Her ex-husband Tal (aka Talmadge Evans III) was awarded their house in Savannah's historic district, the house that Weezie had spent years painstakingly restoring to its original splendor. Weezie was awarded the two-bedroom carriage house on the same property. Each was sure the other would sell. But Tal has taken up residence in the main house with his new girlfriend Caroline DeSantos (who never seems to perspire or have a hair out of place during the wilting Savannah summer), Weezie is running her antiques business out back, and neither will budge. She's also got a few loony relatives and a hunky former boyfriend to contend with, and if that's not enough, dirty deals aplenty wherever she turns.
In this town, where everybody knows everybody's business, something's got to give, and something does....

Savannah Blues is one of Ms. Andrew’s earlier books, and it is the first of her Weezie and Bebe mystery series. I fell in love with these two colorful characters. Their fun, supportive friendship made me long for my own sidekick.
The story premise and plot pace are great. Ms. Andrews provided a good balance between relationship and scene setting with mystery plot progression. That’s a huge compliment from this reader as I feel many cozy mysteries set up the murder then spend ninety percent of the book describing minutia of characters, scenes, and daily life without again mentioning the murder/mystery until the last few chapters of the book.
Equally engaging are the secondary characters in Savannah Blues. Weezie’s parents are delightfully old school; I loved their charming “southernisms” (i.e., “Who are his people?”). Weezie’s ex-husband is great as the loathsome social climber. Bebe’s hunky chef is the complete opposite, and therefore makes him a perfect fit for Weezie. I enjoyed how Ms. Andrews introduced all these various characters and wove their stories together. Savannah Blues is an enjoyable cozy mystery, and a nice start to a series that I look forward to reading.
Great narration by Susan Ericksen.
