Publisher's summary

The dragon is dead. The battle is won. The War has only begun.

Selys, the Burning End, Overlord of the Scoured Mountain, is dead. Onyx and his faithful minions are safely seated in her old fortress, already working to change the mountain for the better. Sadly, not everyone is happy with the ridiculous "modern" changes they are attempting to implement.

The minions of the fallen Overlord have chosen to rebel against the new ruler, and they number in the thousands. When all you’ve known is fear, blood, and strength…anything else is weakness. It’s up to Onyx, a shadow dragon—the species most infamous for lies and treachery—to be the one to teach them a new way.

The dragon is dead. Long live the dragon!

The Greatness Continues...

This is another series that I really love! Like the previous books, I immensely enjoyed listening to this. I really like that the story picked up from where it left off. Also, the author has created these characters that are so interesting and I love them. I love the banters, the struggles, and the dynamic among them.

Another brilliant performance by Steve Campbell! He brought each character to life. Great job!

Great Story

This book was very fun to listen to and was filled with tension and suspense as the main character set about solving one issue after another.
As always, the ending commentary from the narrator was on point and left me eager to listen to more of this series as well as more books he has narrated!

Good

the series is good you can't go wrong by listening to it it's a little off for a dragon but o well. I do wish the mc had an attack that actually does damage outside of his claws and teeth and possibly a tail. Hopefully the next book the author give him something shadow spikes or something.

Keeps getting better

I received the first book in this series as an ARC and then just got so busy I wasn't able to keep up. So when I heard the 4th book was coming out I binged through series to catch up.

Performance by Steve Campbell is great. He manages to do some voices that are just so different from each other that it feels like multiple people are narrating. I am a sucker for anyone that is willing to put out a Blooper Reel with the book too. Just shows that they love doing the job and don't take it so seriously that they can't make fun of themselves.

The story takes a hard turn into Kingdom building, which for a book that was already about a dragon who acts as a dungeon core, says a lot. Onyx deals with insurgency and betrayal as best as he can as he tries to remold Fire Peak into a better society.

Looking forward to book 5 and more from Machmuller.

Great fun

Another solid entry in this fun series. I love the dragon emphasis in this series. I have always believed that if a book couldn’t at least have a dragon in it, it isn’t worth reading. Anyways, it has an entertaining story and a the narration was well performed.

Filler book

Unfortunately a whole book of I don’t wanna kill and procrastination. Book is boring. No real progression unfortunately.

ugh

it started out good with the Mc getting stronger now he's not getting stronger and nobody really fears him because he's so weak it's bow less about him being a dragon and is about him being a city planner and negotiater I feared this would happen considering the Mc is a builder but I mean it started good I though he would continue to have fights himself now when ever he fights its just him breathing to make the opposition weaker be barely does any real fighting.
it's sad really the other ones were pretty good
