Interesting plot device. Low key, no fighting

This is not like all the other dropped in a RPG world by a higher power. No battles, no broken power or unlimited skill access. This is a story of a business tycoon in a world where he can relive his ambition to build another financial empire.
Game logic and plot structure like SIM City or Civilization than a Dungeon Crawler or Fate.

So if you like the business aspect of world building, which I have to be honest... Not so much an unique buildings or heavy village design layout plot. As he asks advisors constantly on where to go next, then uses the "Art of the Deal" negotiation and pyschology from previous life to get what he wants.

Pretty relaxes paced too, never feel any pressure or danger for the MC. But I always feel that the writer is only a plot twist or concept away from a interestingly unique story into an amazingly engrossing story.

Will buy next book in hopes the author improves on this story plot and actually creates the great book so clearly hinted at for a world builder fan.

If you like sim city this is for you!

Recommended if you like Sim City or strategy games, you will enjoy this. Some conflict resolutions are quite fast, but I am enjoying reading it

the narrator is superb as always

good but could use some more

i enjoyed the story, just wish they would build the world more and move away from game mechanics to a little more fantasy.

Excellent 👌

the story is great as well as the narration. I really really enjoyed this. it's like a Fortune 500 boss decides to become a gamer in a Sim like environment. it's really good!

Beating your enemies with diplomacy

I was initially skeptical by the premise. I'm a huge fan of series like The Primal Hunter and Defiance of the Fall so I obviously lean towards solving your problems by force. However, CivCEO is a nice change of pace. I'm on the 6th book now and I could probably count on one hand the battles I remember. Despite that, I find how the MC manages to fix his problems through good old fashioned diplomacy and economics refreshing with minimal use of force or magic while still being enjoyable to read.

There are shortcuts involved of course. Contracts today would be much more ironclad if we had "The System" enforcing them after all, or if you could just click a button to change your system of government or form of currency. Yet, the basic economic principles are still sound and I find myself relating to the main character in regards to his diplomatic principles as well as his shortcomings.

Funny enough, I'm a CEO myself and maybe I gravitate towards the power fantasy books because of how I have to deal with diplomacy in my day to day!

World builders will love thrill seekers won't

This book is All about world building MC doesn't have any powers worth noting, but if you enjoy seeing a village come together then you will like it.
The MC is basically playing Sims on a village scale.
it fits my niche so I loved it.

Well…..it’s world building

I actually love this book. Yeah maybe the MC has stuff workout more than it should but I like the world building. But it is without all the lame stuff like the bossy female with a horrible attitude just because. Or finding your inner strength right before defeat and then saving the day with new found power. So yeah this book has some issues but I loved it.

Surprisingly Good

Wish they had a publisher pack as the books are so short and I won’t spend credits on a 6 or 7 hour book.
