About this listen

The car crash was the last thing I remembered...then I woke up here. Where "here" was felt like an impossible nightmare. I died, but this wasn't what I'd expected to find when they said I'd meet my maker.

The afterlife is just like a video game, except I didn't start in a noob world like everybody else. I started out on one of the most challenging dungeon worlds meant only for ancient souls who've been dead much longer than I have....

Welcome to Epoc.

I don't have the right stats for this place, not even a little bit. I'm in complete noob gear with the standard human sword and shield. I don't even have any crafting skills to make a decent breakfast with the high tier ingredients in this place.

Dying in the afterlife is even worse than dying on Earth. Earth, you only die once, but here, you can die over and over again and each one is just as miserable as the last.

There's only one way I can survive the cycle, one way to stay sane.

I need a power leveler...and fast.

Solid story with an RPG realm

Enjoyed the characters and the villains. Looking forward to the next one. The narrator did a good job, with some fun character voices.

Nothing stands out

I gave up part way through there wasn’t enough to hold my interest.

Decent enough ideas, but the story is kind of flat. I don’t care about the characters. I’m a few hours into the book and there are only three characters. The MC is being power leveled, but aside from the initial kill, he seems on his own.

Based on the synopsis I expected something different.

It seems people either love the story or like me are unimpressed.

Tropey start, but actually interesting story

This book starts like all the other LitRPG books, but has a really interesting story line developing. I am looking forward to the next entry in the series.

Been done before and better

It is a bit boring to me and short sighterd the performance carries it along but that is to be expected of Travis

Meh

Meh. Sure it picks up a little in the back half, but frankly just feels unfinished-as if the whole time the author is thinking about what he’ll do in the second book instead of making the first story solid.

Solid story - gets better as it progresses

I like this book. The first few chapters felt a bit weak but then he grabbed me and I enjoyed the last 2/3 a lot. The author has the start of an interesting series. I hope it stays strong.

Give it a chance

Good book. It surprised me! I almost stopped after the first 10 mins but it gets better.

Too convoluted to follow

If you're a fan of the show Knives Out, this might be for you.

I had a hard time following it and couldn't tell who I should be rooting for. It felt like every character has their own agenda and is just trying to manipulate the main character to doing what they want.

The only character I actually liked besides the MC was the other human he meets at the arena.

Also, hard to find any sense in a world where everything and everyone wants to kill you. It's definitely not for me, I won't be bothering with any sequels.

Stick with it. You won’t be disappointed. This book really picks up in the second half
