Disappointing. Had great reviews on Amazon but...

Would you consider the audio edition of Man of Ice to be better than the print version?

Havent read it so couldn't say...

What was most disappointing about Diana Palmer’s story?

The lead male character was such an a**hole. Mean, hateful, hurtful and in my opinion un-redeeming. The heroine was weak and a huge pushover. If any man treated my friend like this I would tell her to leave his crazy self and never speak to him again. The heroine had no self respect at all.

Which character – as performed by Jeff Crawford – was your favorite?

Jeff Crawford did a great job and was probably the only good thing about this book.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Yes! I wanted to strangle both of them! I wanted to laugh with absurdness of this book and cry with frustration and disbelieving.

Any additional comments?

This author usually does so much better and before I purchased this book I looked at the reviews and they were all 4+ stars and great reviews. Big disappointment.

Interesting !

Poor female narration takes away from experience.
Life’s problems and parental negligence effected characters adulthood!

Sheer brilliance

If you could sum up Man of Ice in three words, what would they be?

heartbreakingly heartwarmingly awesome

Any additional comments?

Palmer returns to the scene and makes us fall in love with Wyoming all over again with this heartbreakingly heart-warming tale. She uses exquisitely vivid descriptions that you can’t help but picture. I can barely express how fully she drew me into this tale. The narrator really enhanced the story with his varying pace, tone, and emotion.

You get to know the main characters of this tale in intimate detail. Their past, present, and futures all make their way into this tale. I felt for these characters. My heart broke for both of the main characters in this heart-warming yet shocking tale. The supporting cast, although small, was perfect for this tale. They round out the story nicely, walking the line between family and employee.

I was emotionally invested in this story. I didn’t want it to end but at the same time I wanted to know how it turned out. It was a brilliant tale that I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.

Far from Diana Palmer's best.

I enjoy Diana Palmer's books and was excited to come across this one. Unfortunately it was far from one of her best. I found the characters shallow and predictable and the story theme repetitive. I managed to stay with it to the end but it took effort.

Didn't love this one.

Struggled to finish. I've listened to several other books she's written that are MUCH better. this one was a disappointment.

Boring

a total waste of money even at the low price I bought it at. I couldn't finish it no matter how hard I tried. Sad to say I bought 2 books at the same time! Hopefully the 2nd will be better.

Not her best!

Would you try another book from Diana Palmer and/or Jeff Crawford?

Yes, I enjoyed his expressive reading which vividly showed how awful Dawson was.

What was most disappointing about Diana Palmer’s story?

The going back and forth between the two of with the love and hate. Also I know the hero in romances should be forceful but he raped her twice and then to add insult to injury verbally assaulted her afterwards. That was distasteful. I've read books by Diana Palmer for many years especially her long, tall Texans series and this by far the worst.

What does Jeff Crawford bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The nuances of each character.

What character would you cut from Man of Ice?

The widow Holton
