Only okay

The narrator had a odd feminine voice. It distracted me while I tried to listen.

A sweet romance

As with any Palmer romance, you can count on good characters, lots of romance with plenty of angst along the way. I was a little disappointed that this one didn’t have as many love scenes as she has written lately. I hope the next one has more. This was more like her original Silhouette/Harlequin books.

Another wonderful book!

Now on to the next book by Diana.
I think I will read Wyoming Bold...Dalton Kirk's
store & then Cane Kirk's story in Wyoming Fierce.

Narrator

This narrator is the BEST! It is so important to have someone that is such a good narrator and very good with different voices. And he has the best voice! Loved the book.

There are definitely some weaknesses in the story

Ok, the whole mystery part of the story wasn't bad. There are a lot of characters that started to have a personality, but it just wasn't developed. The thing that just didn't do it for me was the romance arc. I'll try to write this without spoilers.

The h was okay...not entirely believable, but fine. Suspend disbelief. That she works at this ranch for a "couple of weeks" and she and the H get to their HEA being madly in love (come on..that's not a spoiler...we KNEW this part would happen) while the H was supposedly dating this other hateful woman the entire time is completely unbelievable. There is absolutely NO storybuilding in this aspect. Just zero to heart-eyes in a couple of weeks? All the while, the H is allowing the hateful woman to be a heinous bitch to the h?

The other thing that just probably should have been left off was the sex scene. Yes, there is one. And it's absolutely cringeworthy AND unrealistic. AND the h is in her 20's and has only touched her "private place" (yes..it was actually referred to in those terms) when bathing? And when he drops trow the first time he actually says "as you can see I'm more endowed than most men". Yeah. THAT cringeworthy. ...proceeds to make her O twice on her first time with no external stimulation. This is like one of those "clean romance" or "Christian romance" type stories with a non-steamy sexual encounter at the end.

So I wasn't feeling the chemistry at all and nothing in the story supported the relationship purported to be "forever" in the HEA. That all said...Phil Gigante's voice. OMG. He did so much with so little story and is the only reason I finished it. Well...that and the abrupt ending. lol

Handsome rancher's new ranch hand hides a surprise

What did you love best about Wyoming Tough?

I enjoyed the ins and outs of everyday ranch work as described in the book as I grew up around cowboys and ranch hands myself. There is a good storyline here and Mallory Kirk is a very strong character. Surprised however that he was so easily fooled by the rag girlfriend who could not leave quick enough for me. Morie Brannt is a very strong heroine in this story. Gives as good as she gets though she is still vulnerable to her feelings for him. She of course, is hiding things from him as all heroines seem to do. Lots of good support characters who I am sure will get books or make appearances in later books.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Wyoming Tough?

The scene at her father's ranch when Mallory is finally presented with the truth. Hard for a strong man like him to face all his mistakes in front of all those people. He is a good man after all.

Which scene was your favorite?

I had many that I enjoyed and can't decide on any one over the other that I would listen to over and over. There are many funny and sad moments in the story that bear hearing again.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Not good at tag lines so will not try here.

Any additional comments?

I like the way Phil does all the male characters. He does suttle accents very well and does a very good drawl. I like to be able to tell a character is older and he does that well too. I do wish that his women's voices were better. They are more times than not too high pitched and more annoying than sensual. Love scenes can be tough indeed when the woman sounds like that. Hopefully that will improve one day because he is really a very good narrator.

Romance book

Honestly, I downloaded the obool for two reasons:
1. Performed by Phil Gigante
2. Title is featured in Audible escape

That said, this book is absolutely not my genre, because it’s plain (vanilla) romance. I think the story is well written and the character development is okay.
For my taste it’s to bland but in it’s sort it’s probably not a bad book. I guess, if you like Nicolas Sparks you might be interested in this book.

I do enjoy a good western story!

This is a great example of ms Palmer, s best story telling. A very good example of the narrator, s ability to hold my attention through the entire book in one day!

Wyoming Tough is and extremely well written book . I enjoyed this story immensely . I really enjoyed the part where the young lady that was putting on errs, and she stole that egg and tried to frame Kings daughter and defame her character ,but in the end everything came out right .
