Publisher's summary

Quincy Harker is walking on the side of the angels this time. Or at least beside an angel. It's the summer of 2009, and Harker, the immortal magic-wielding nephew of Dracula, has a brand-new guardian angel. Her name is Glory, and she's there to try to keep Harker from getting himself killed. Try is the operative word.

Someone is murdering Nephilim, the rare offspring of human and angel, and using their blood for a terrible ritual. Harker has to find out who the next victim is, who the murderer is, and what the plan is. All in three days. Because no matter what kind of help Heaven sent, it might not be enough to prevent someone from raising a lot of Hell.

Heaven Sent is Book Five of the best-selling Quincy Harker, Demon Hunter series. Book One of the series, Raising Hell, was nominated for the 2016 Manly Wade Wellman Award by the NC Speculative Fiction Foundation.

Dracula's nephew battles demons!

Great series, read many of them already. The author takes an approach to the original Dracula legend and drags it to modern times. Runs with the theory Dracula bit Mina and johnathan Harker and their baby is a suped up supernatural creature like Blade but not vampiric in nature and is also a wizard. AWESOME!!! The narrator delivers a gritty black and white noir style narration to it that really delivers the feel of the story. Love it! Can't wait for more! This book was given to me by the author narrator or publisher for free via audiobookboom in exchange for an unbiased review

A Look Back 7 Years into Q’s Life

This story takes place about 7 years prior to books 1-4. Q meets Glory, his guardian angel for the first time and we learn more about his obligation to Detective Flynn who he works with in the prior books.

Someone is killing half human/half angels at an alarming rate and our beloved Q must work to figure out why this is happening and to try to stop it. His "Uncle Luke" helps with his research and as usual is a big source of information for Q.

If you've read the prior books, this will not disappoint, though it was weird to go backwards in the timeline rather than pick up where book 4 left off.

The narrator is absolutely perfect for this story. James Foster's ability to portray Q's snark and attitude is top notch. And he differentiates the other characters well.

Loved it

What made the experience of listening to Heaven Sent the most enjoyable?

Fast action, Funny Puns and updated old school style.

Have you listened to any of James Foster’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No, this was my first.

Any additional comments?

This was the first book in the series from this writer that I’ve read. It was worth the read.

I love the Buffy the vampire slayer and ACDC PUNs, the fast action and the magic use.
I like the almost classic Gumshoe vibe, and updated demon hunter humor.

Its really well done and I love the reader, from just reading this I am more then interested in reading the other books in the series.

Good supernatural story

Any additional comments?

Quincy Harker is the nephew of Dracula and leads a rough life, trying to do good. A good story has been crafted here. The narrator is fantastic. I have gotten other books just because he was the narrator.

a series that I have loved since day one

Quincy Harker is back. Again, and in the fifth installment, hard to believe we have traveled so far with everyones favorite demon hunting vampire hybrid.

This fifth book was fun. It could almost be considered a prequel, because it allows us to get to know certain characters better. Glory in particular, Harker's guardian angel. Heaven Sent is basically her backstory as far as Quincy is concerned. Additionally it is their first major adventure together. Leave it to Quincy and an Angel to find something more sinister than demons and other hellions.

Hartness has a way with character building and development that seems so effortless. His stories leave very little for you to figure out yourself. Making it nothing more that pure unadulterated fun, I almost feel guilty for enjoying it so much.

It is really difficult to review a book in a series that I have loved since day one. If you are not familiar with this series, I have not spoiled anything for you here. However, know this. This series is a faced paced action packed story filled with dark humor and delicious enough to make you want to smack your mamma.

James Foster, as always, was able to bring his his, what should be trademarked, charm into the likes of Harker and other demonic entities. One of my favorite things that he does in this series as opposed to others is the channeling of another demon vanquisher Sandman Slim. If you are not familiar, I am talking about the added gravelyness to his story telling. Especially for Harker.

Another Hit Story

#5 went back to an early Quincy and adds in how he met his guardian angel Glory. I hope in the next book we get more back story on Glory.

Mr. Hartness combines action, drama and creative deadly creatures of the night into something you just can't stop listening to. There is so much history in these stories because Quincy has lived a long life and being related to a Master Vampire (who is really a kinda good guy) gives the listener an awesome story line. Add in James Foster doing the narration - instant Hit Stories.

Keep them coming plz, cause I'm really hooked.

this is a prequel

I wish it would say prequel. it sets up book 6 and gives back story on Glory, Luke, Renfield and some others but don't start reading hoping to hear about Flynn.

Book 5 & Quincy Is Still Going Strong

Whenever I’m in the mood for a quick, but still solid book that is in my wheelhouse, i usually turn to Quincy Harker: Monster Hunter. In case i haven’t mentioned it before, Quincy is crass, sarcastic & a few other qualities that i enjoy in a main character. In book, old “Q” has to stop a half demon being from killing half angel’s, before a important event like an equinox happens & it’s too late. I’ll let you listen to it, in order to find out what happens. Overall, still a good entry into the series & Quincy keeps things fun & sarcastic.
