About this listen

When she turned the page and her gaze flickered over the date on top, it was as though the lightning outside had somehow grounded right into her. A billion volts of pain, a shriek of anguish you could actually see and feel as it pierced her.

Camp David, USA. A birthday party turns into a nightmare when a child is snatched after the celebrations. The first lady enlists the services of Sean King and Michelle Maxwell to bring the child home safely. But she and King share a past. Years ago he saved her then-senator husband from political disaster. And this may not be all that passed between them. With Michelle still battling her own demons, the two are pushed to the limit, with forces aligned on all sides against them - and the line between friend and foe impossible to define...or defend.

Once I started listening to First Family it was almost impossible to put down. I had listened to the whole book in less than two days!! I have listened to every David Baldacci title available through Audible.com. I have enjoyed each and every one. First Family holds it's place with the others!! I highly recommend this book for anyone who enjoys a good suspense novel!!

Sound effects are not necessary!

What is up with the sound effects? They take away from the story and a good narrator does not need them. What happened to Scott Brick?

The story was very good - typical of this series - however, the narrator did not add to it.

Excellent all around.

All's well that ends well! It's amazing that the loss of life was basically kept to a minimum. Roth Ann & Sam, nut no FBI

Great Story

Like the majority of his Book Baldacci wrote an incredible story with lots of twist and turns that would keep you on your toes and intrigue to the end. when you think all is lost and promise are broken you are taken back by the awesome conclusion. Always a fan of the unexpected. Thank you for a well written story, a good lesson of trust and fairness. Karma is real, whatever you earned has to be earn in a fair way.

Baldacci Delivers Another Great Tale

I love the King and Maxwell series, and this did not disappoint. It's a twisty tale, complex and satisfying. Can't wait to get to the next one...well read/acted, too. Fun!

A Pipe Dream

The book is great, the reader and music wonderful, the story is well written. The reason I say "A Pipe Dream" is that it seems politicians always get away with anything and there seems to be NO ONE that can or will hold them accountable!
