Some secrets....

When Liv Dugan ducks out of work for lunch, it's just an ordinary day. When she returns, she stumbles onto a massacre. All her colleagues at Zuma Software have been shot. Only luck has left Liv unscathed, and that might be running out....

...will follow you....

Liv suspects the shootings are tied to her past - and to the package she recently received from her long-dead adoptive mother. Sensing she's being followed, Liv jumps into a stranger's car and orders him to drive. Her "hostage" complies, listening carefully as her story unwinds. Skeptical at first, he ultimately begins to believe all Liv's fears are justified....

...to your grave....

Together, Liv and her unlikely confidant try to uncover the truth about her adoptive family, her birth parents, and her troubled childhood. Because somewhere in Liv's past is a secret worth killing for, and a nightmare she can never outrun....

Complex storyline

The complex storyline kept me engaged. Was distracted from time to time by voice of reader.

Good Story and Naration

I had no problem with the narration except it did run into the next chapter sometimes without notice. But it was no real problem. I enjoyed the story and listened straight through. I look forward to the next book and the building of all the characters.

Meh

No chapter breaks makes this difficult to listen to.
I also have a pet peeve- dislike romance in psychological thrillers.

Bad Narrator and Weak Story

The narrator struggled to depict characters individually. For all the men characters she used a deep, gravely voice that was overthetop. She didn't pause in between scenes, and it would get confusing. The story itself had a lot of problems. The main characters go on a hunt for a serial killer based on a picture of an unknown man and some vague memories. When the the real killer is revealed, it was meant to be a shock of who it was, but honestly, it just didn't make sense. I know the author explains why this was the killer but I didn't buy it and thought she chose him just for the shock value rather than really developing the story.
