About this listen

Eve Dallas is the tough lieutenant hot on his trail, but this is unlike any case she’s ever been assigned - or any killer she’s ever pursued. A police sketch based on eye-witness testimony reveals the killer has green skin, swollen red eyes, goblin ears, and a dislocated jaw-structure that defies the human form. Is it a mask? Is it make-up? Or is the explanation more sinister? Dallas faces off against multiple suspects - all of them students of medicine capable of precisely slicing the ears, noses, and eyes of the three victims. But who had the motive? More importantly, what kind of rogue science are these healers practicing?

A good & fun listen

Again, nice that Eve is a bit softer--retains her edge but not constantly complaining and fighting about everything. Typical Eve Dallas story but as always, a good listen and good performance.

Not her best In Death book

Would you listen to Chaos in Death again? Why?

No, I wouldn't listen again. The reader was HORRIBLE and her voice distracted me from the story line.

How could the performance have been better?

Different reader

Thrilling and Unique!

I just finished listening to this 'half book' for the 4th or 5th time. it's one of my favorites and really wish it had been a full length book. The storyline is incredible!

Loved it! Very quirky!

Loved the newest book in the series and will definitely listen to it again! This book is true to the Eve Dallas style but a little quirky! Interesting characters but I would have liked to see more development of the villian!

Weird story, but entertaining nonetheless.

If you could sum up Chaos in Death in three words, what would they be?

Weird, entertaing story

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

I think I like JD Robb's stories better when they are closer to real-life, thrilling events.

Have you listened to any of Susan Ericksen’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes, I have. I find her performance outstanding, as always.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

No. Not really.

Any additional comments?

I'm quite ready for JD Robb's next

Remember that this is a short book.

I know many have judged this book poorly, but it is the shortness of the book, not the lack of the writer that makes this book disappointing. Having read two others in the series just as short I was expecting the disappointment, but was still looking forward to the book. It was fast and I longed for more, but it is still wroth the $$ like all the book in this series.

Another perfect one!

All the audiobooks in this series are done to perfection by the great talent of Susan Erickson. She is probably one of the best narrators out there and makes you feel like you are part of the story, just sitting at the shoulder of Eve Dallas observing everything. A++

Unique characters, fast paced.

Would you consider the audio edition of Chaos in Death to be better than the print version?

Have not read the printed version, but enjoyed the audio.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

The plot kept me guessing who Dr. Chaos was until Eve and I both figured it out.

What does Susan Ericksen bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Alway love any book she reads for me. Her concept of the voices for each character is great.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

No
