About this listen

Werewolves don't have a how-to manual - nor do men embarking on a new life together.

It's been a few weeks since Dylan Warner wolfed out and killed Andy, the crazed werewolf who originally turned him and later tried to murder Chris Nock. Architect Dylan and handyman Chris are still refurbishing Dylan's old house as they work out the structure of their relationship. They come from very different backgrounds, and neither has had a long-term lover before, so negotiating their connections would be challenge enough even if Dylan didn't turn into a beast once a month.

To make matters worse, Dylan's house is haunted, and events from both men's pasts are catching up with them. Dylan has to cope with the aftermath of killing Andy, and Chris continues to suffer the effects of a difficult childhood.

In his quest to get rid of the ghost, Dylan rekindles old friendships and faces new dangers. At the same time, Chris's father makes a sudden reappearance, stirring up old emotions. If Dylan and Chris want to build a lasting relationship, they'll have to meet these challenges head-on.

Werewolves and ghosts

This is a book two in a series and should be read in order, but I didn't read the first one and was able to catch up on events quickly. Book one tells how Dylan and Chris met and how Dylan Becomes a werewolf so I'll skip all that so no spoilers. Now They are dating and dealing with a ghost. They try to find his Identity, find more trouble and come to terms with their relationship. Their story is fast paced, has twists and turns, drama and some hot man-sex.

John Solo does a good job narrating. He gives each character a distinct voice and the pacing is good.

If you're looking for a good paranormal with werewolves and ghosts I think you will like this series too.

I love this series

I love this series. I did figure out who the ghost was pretty much from the beginning but it didn't take away from the story for me. I love these two and how they work through everything together. I hope we will see them again in future books.

Great to find out more about Dylan and Chris

Good Bones (#1) is definitely my favourite story, followed by Buried Bones (#2) in this highly entertaining paranormal series. Both books centre around Dylan and Chris and their developing romance. What makes these stories fabulous is that Dylan is a werewolf and the pair have to deal with issues arising from this in both of the books. There’s drama, suspense, humour, and some lovely hot scenes between the two guys.

I always enjoy Kim Fielding’s writing and the way she weaves intricate plots and produces well-developed characters. She excels in world-building and made the werewolf aspect and the ghost scenes in book 2 entirely plausible. I particularly liked the interaction between Dylan and Chris and the chemistry that sizzles between them.

#1 is narrated by Nick J Russo and #2 is narrated by John Solo. Normally I prefer the same narrator within a series, but both narrators did the stories and characters justice. Pacing is spot-on and interesting, and all the voices are clearly defined.

An enjoyable series overall and well worth reading/listening if you’re a fan of paranormal and contemporary romance.

Werewolf + Ghost! What can go wrong???

John Solo took up this narration wonderfully. Story started more or less where it ended in the last book. There's a mysterious ghost, hauntings, and the journey the MCs undertook for an exorcism.

Chris and Dylan are on track with their relationship, coming to terms with being in love when one of them is a werewolf, when they hit the bump of sort with ghost sightings. They couldn’t be intimate with a possible ghost voyeur in the house. Hence their attempt to exorcise the ghost which led to getting in touch with an old friend, a consultation with a spiritualist, a very tense and exhausting dive, two unpleasant encounters with possible family and friends of the ghost, and finally an explosive denouement.

It’s a rollicking good listen and I really loved both book 1 and book 2 (this one) which is full of friendship, love, and understanding. There’s sorrow as well for what could have been. And really, I wish there’s an audio for the third book as well. Highly recommended.

secrets revealed

I enjoyed the whole story, but the ghost was intriguing, and I was glad to find out who it was. I was happy with Chris's resolution with family. Healing a long time coming. I liked seeing Dylan and Chris grow and meld together along with their relationship. A great follow-up to Good Bones. I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this and am giving an honest review. The narrator did a great job bringing the characters to life. Looking forward to the last book.
