About this listen

Even in Grundy, Alaska, its unusual to find a naked guy with a bear trap clamped to his ankle on your porch. But when said guy turns into a wolf, recent southern transplant Mo Wenstein has no difficulty identifying the problem. Her surly neighbor Cooper Graham, who has been openly critical of Mo's ability to adapt to life in Alaska, has trouble of his own. Werewolf trouble.

For Cooper, an Alpha in self-imposed exile from his dysfunctional pack, its love at first sniff when it comes to Mo. But Cooper has an even more pressing concern on his mind. Several people around Grundy have been the victims of wolf attacks, and since Cooper has no memory of what he gets up to while in werewolf form, hes worried that he might be the violent canine in question.

If a wolf cries wolf, it makes sense to listen, yet Mo is convinced that Cooper is not the culprit. Except if hes not responsible, then who is? And when a werewolf falls head over haunches in love with you, what are you supposed to do anyway? The rules of dating just got a whole lot more complicated.

Good start to a new series.

This story wasn’t as funny as Half-Moon Hollow, but I enjoyed the story. Molly Harper knows how to entertain, without making the story so complex. It’s a light read with some chuckles along the way.
This story featured Maureen “Mo” Duvall-Weinsten moving to Alaska after her fiancé dumped her for no real reason. She wanted a freash start and just picked Alaska to get away from her ex and her hippy parents. She begins working at a saloon and since she is in small town named Grundy, all the local bachelors come sniffing around. Cooper Graham is a local who can’t seem to stop coming around Mo, but he keeps saying things to convey his dislike of “non-locals”. Cooper was like the kindergarten boy who likes a girl, so he pulls her hair, pushes her down and just picks on her. Mo hates that she is attracted to the one man who is mean to her, but then keeps kissing her. To top off, she finds out he is werewolf. What’s a girl to do?

I tried reading this book twice, but couldn’t get into. So I tried the audio and narrator Amanda Ronconi brought it to life. She has great voices and she just entertained me the entire book. I think I will keep going with this series, but on audio.

Light Charming Fun Interesting

Where does How to Flirt with a Naked Werewolf rank among all the audiobooks you???ve listened to so far?

In top group of light fiction. It's about werewolves, yes, but that was not the dominant theme. It is a light and entertaining romance with a bit of adventure.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Cooper. Got over himself to fall in love.

What does Amanda Ronconi bring to the story that you wouldn???t experience if you just read the book?

Good tone of voice. Fast pace.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Wanted to hear the end and wanted to continue listening. Help my attention.

Any additional comments?

Actually quite funny in places. Light and charming. Well written as a fast paced book for a fun read. Narrator was good. I was not expecting much but ordered due to reviews that it was funny and I was looking for something light. It had a bit more depth to it but it was so closely woven into the content that I didn't realize how well done it was at first. The genre of urban mythology has been improved by this book. I will most definitely order the sequel. It was just plain FUN and I have to repeat myself, better than expected, funny and had a strong but quirky charm. Good for the car or when doing a task around the house.

Wry, entertaining, a bit of a fluffy fling

Light reading/listening that will make you laugh and do a few spit takes with your morning coffee. The writing is fast paced, quirky and just a fun little fling through Mo's relationship in Alaska with a guy, who just happens to be a werewolf. So? Yes, there are some explicit passages in the story, 30 something women have physical relationships, duh. So mom's don't think it's appropriate for your pre teen young daughter, that surely isn't Molly Harper's target audience - so get your daughter some Twightlight books or Judy Blume and read this one yourself.

Amanda Ronconi does a pretty darned good job with the narration, almost like listening to your friend retell what happened last weekend over a huge 30oz pomagranite martini and some chocolate cheesecake. She is probably the best narrator for Molly Harper's style.

It's a fun read. It made me chuckle in the mornings on my way to work.

Spot on!

If you're looking for a contemporary paranormal romance with a comedic twist, look no further. The female lead in this book was likeable, her love interest was very very interesting, and the dynamic between them was perfect. Molly Harper not only created fantastic lead characters, but also fleshed out her side characters. Anyone who has ever lived in a small town or community will instantly connect with some of the locals. The story had it all. There was mystery, passion, family drama, paranormal doings, everlasting love and lots and lots of irreverent humor.

It's hard to narrate humor. It's all about timing and inflection, but Amanda Ronconi rose to the task and delivered a fantastic performance.

I loled

I can't remember all of the times this audiobook made me laugh out loud, because there were too many. This was the first Molly Harper book I read and I really enjoyed it. There was some mystery, some romance, and lots of sexual tension. I also really enjoyed the Alaskan setting.

Amanda Ronconi does an amazing job of giving voice to the characters and the humor in Molly Harper's writing.

The book also explores some interesting themes around setting boundaries with family members as we age, and I found that added depth to some fun characters.

There are just great moments of the characters being typical people... Things that make me relate and connect to the story.

Can't put my finger on it. It's just very well done.

What does Amanda Ronconi bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

A great twist of her voice for the various emotions, especially irony, and slightly acidic emotions (self-doubt, internal dialogue, etc.)

LOL Funny!!

Would you consider the audio edition of How to Flirt with a Naked Werewolf to be better than the print version?

I haven't read the print version but Amanda Ronconi is one of my favorite narrators, and definately doesn't disappoint here.

What did you like best about this story?

Definately the comedy!

What about Amanda Ronconi’s performance did you like?

I love the way she handles emotions and she never sounds like she's reading from a script. Her male characters are bit weak, but it's forgivable because you get lost in the way she tells the story.

OMG I love Molly Harper.

This was my first Molly Harper book and I wish I had listened to her books sooner. I have listened to the genre for a while now and while these books are not typically for the genre they are totally awesome.

This book is set is Alaska, where Mo runs to get away from her crazy hippie family and hopefully find herself in the process. Mo is so funny, sarcastic and a little quirky. The whole book is totally hysterical. The other reviewers are correct about drinking while listening to any Molly Harper book. I found myself giggling so many times during the book my husband keep giving me funny looks.

I love all the family dynamics. It is a different take on the werewolf pack and I totally love the the Graham family.

I definitely recommend this series and all of Molly Harper's books.
