About this listen

I don’t like my new boss. Not at all.

London Ambrose is a spoiled billionaire’s daughter. And now she’s the new co-owner of the Seattle football team, but that doesn’t mean that she knows diddly squat about football. There’s nothing I hate more than having someone micromanaging me, shadowing my every move, and giving me their two cents on every little thing, as I coach my defensive line. I don’t care about new team jerseys and branding or answering her million and one questions about how I do my job. But I can’t help but come to her defense when an old flame shows up and starts harassing her. I’m a Montgomery. We don’t let anyone mess with women.

Now, I’m suddenly in a fake relationship, pretending to date the gorgeous billionaire and learning so many surprising things about this captivating woman that I just can’t seem to stay away from her.

When the lines between our fake relationship and real relationship blur, and my initial distaste for her turns into desire, I find myself coaching the most important game of my life—do I let my guard down or do I let London Ambrose walk away forever?

Drew & London sweet and spicy!

Drew Montgomery keeps the hotness level of the Montgomery men alive and well in Kristen Proby’s The Stand-In the Single in Seattle series. Drew absolutely hates his new boss, one of two new owners for the Seattle football team that he is quarterback coach for. Because he was raised to help any woman in need he steps in to help his new boss keep a cheating ex from bothering her. Because they have to keep up a facade of fake dating Drew begins to see the real London Ambrose. I love this family so much!! The family love that is always in these stories and having each other's backs is just amazing. The hotness level between Drew and London is off the charts. The between-the-sheets scenes is 5 flames worthy!! Now, let’s discuss the audiobook. OMG, Erin Mallon and Robert Hatchet bring London and Drew to life in our ears. Both of these narrators are top notch. Their voices are smooth, passionate, rich, and emotional. I loved the audio!

Fantastic

I loved Drew and Landon together. London was such a strong woman and Drew was really just what she needed. I love how this series just keeps getting better and better. It’s like coming home and visiting with the Williams‘s and Montgomery’s.
Beautiful story!

My new favorite couple

Drew doesn't start out liking London as the new owner of the football team where he coaches. Then a situation occurs and he steps in to help her out and he shows the truly great guy he is - just like all the other Montgomery men. Theirs isn't a smooth path but it's wonderful to go along with them. I thought the narration by Erin Mallon and Robert Hatchet was terrific. I'm looking forward to more in this series, of course.

My heart was so full listening to this romance!

My heart is so full after reading about the love of Drew and London. I loved these two way more than I anticipated, and the story was not what I expected. London owns the football team that Drew works for as a coach. At the beginning of the book there is a slightly enemies to lovers vibe, but that quickly turns and I so very much enjoyed their relationship and Drew's interaction with London's son (yes she's a single mom). This story was relatively low angst but the story had enough action and drama to keep me engaged. Their love brought me to tears and I enjoyed getting to see the whole Montgomery clan. I was so sad when it ended I just want to be a part of the family and spend time with them always.

Plus we get a little teaser for the next single in Seattle series, and a new series set in Montana.

The Stand-in in audio is absolute perfection! Erin Mallon and Robert Hatchet bring London and Drew to life, as well as the rest of the Seattle/Montgomery crew. listening to the audiobook connected me to the characters in a whole new way, I loved the care and emotion they brought to their performances.

I highly recommend everyone read The Stand-In so they can fall in love with Drew and London like I did.

Loved the narration and the story

I absolutely enjoyed the narration of this audiobook. I haven’t listened to much of Robert Hatchet but I enjoyed him a lot in this audiobook and Erin Mallon is Erin Mallon so once again wonderful in this audiobook as she always is.

I wasn’t sure what to expect with this pairing especially not really knowing much of anything about London but I didn’t want to put this book down.
London was very unexpected and even her own secrets make you like her so much more because she’s such a strong, respectable and confident woman. She has all the values that make such a good person and is exactly why she fits so well with the Montgomery family.
Drew was exactly what London needed. Someone confident enough to be in a relationship with his boss who is also a billionaire and not feel intimidated by it.
He really stepped up when needed, beginning with deciding he’d fake a relationship with her to get her away from someone in her past. He is such a good guy and exactly what you’d expect a Montgomery guy to act.
The things you also can expect in this book is getting to see the Montgomery cousins and significant others together, the whole family being supportive and some moments with just Caleb and Brynna being parents with their children. I can never get enough of this family and I absolutely love that yes this is a second generation series but all the pertinent information from the OG series is carefully laid out so you know what you need to but don’t feel like there is so much retelling happening or you’re missing part of the story.

It will remind you why you fell for this family to begin with

When the original Seattle series came out, I didn’t think it would be possible to top it. And yet somehow, with each new installment of the 2nd Generation of Montgomerys, Kristen Proby keeps bringing it…over and over again. She somehow manages to keep the same elements that made us fall in love with this family while taking us on new adventures with the kids of those couples that stole our hearts years ago.

The Stand-In is no exception. It follows Drew, son of Caleb and Bryanna, as he navigates the emotions wrought by his new boss. London Ambrose, along with her brother Rome, is the new owner of the NFL team Drew coaches for. She drives him batty with her endless questions about the team’s uniform when Drew couldn’t possibly care less. Until the day he has to save her from her douchey ex-boyfriend, and he begins to see the woman she truly is. I loved watching Drew unravel all the mysteries of London. For as visible as she is, she hides so much more away from the world. And just like his dad so many years ago falling for Drew’s twin sisters, Drew finds himself falling for London’s son, Caleb. It’s a full-circle moment for this family and one that is beautiful to watch unfold.

You won’t want to miss this new release by Kristen Proby. Set in her Seattle world amongst the Montgomery clan. It will remind you why you fell for this family to begin with and keep you wanting more from their world.

Second time through I listened to the narration by Erin Mallon and Richard Hatchet. I love this story, right up there with any of the Montgomery males. But hearing this story was a whole other world of delight. I loved the push and pull of the characters. I thought the interpretation of individual characters by each narrator was great and really kept me engaged and enjoying the listen. Definitely would recommend a listen!

Great addition to this series!

I love the Single in Seattle/With Me in Seattle world and this story was the perfect addition. Drew and London were so fun and unexpected. I loved everything about them from start to finish. I don’t want to spoil anything so I will just say I loved Drew and how he was with London and her family and I loved that London was so strong and unapologetic about being a female billionaire. The narrators were perfect for this story and I highly recommend the audio!
