Narration gets better if you stick with it. I almost DNF, but the info was too valuable to skip.

Narration gets better at about 25%

this book was written by two incredible women, one of whose first two books i loved in audible. I was expecting a similar experience with this book, but was unable to appreciate the information due to the mechanical-ike narration. the poor narration outweighted the information so much so that i could listen any longer past the gear section. buy the hard copy and read yourself.

Katie and Heather serve up a plethora of anecdotes, experiential tidbits, and in-depth research pertinent to all things backpacking. While this book is oriented to long-distance hikers, it contains invaluable lessons for day hikers and LASHers as well as those planning to thru-hike multi-week or multi-month expeditions. This book will enable you to prepare yourself mentally, physically, and nutritionally, and set you on the path for success - the only thing left is to take the first step!

Awful narration that sounds like a robot. Can't stand it. I love Heather Anderson's other books, but I just can't listen to this one.
